so, i'm visiting family this week who are all jws.

yesterday, it started with one of them talking about a co giving her some points on time keeping for service.

she is now writing a letter before she drives to service, so she can count her drive time.

The society is made up of folks who have a need to be patted on their backs...see me syndrome...I went out for x amount of hours...they can't wait to tell someone...The problem is that it's a man made religion....changes are happening...the friends may be getting disheartened, with so many changes...all organizations to this...it's to perk up the masses...to make them feel that they still matter...it's to keep us busy we won't see the changes...Like I think, they are ready to give Jesus his real props....just look at our literature...yep, I think many readers have written the society & said....You have it wrong...it's about Jesus...Yes, Jehovah sent him, but Jesus did the job....doesn't the bible say he is the way...there is a change coming..& counting time is just another way to blind side us, well not me...I know TTATT...plus I work for corporate america...they are tricky...so when the tricks come...you see them...when we couldn't get the bible because there were none to be had...I said...Ummm...new bible coming...you should have seen the looks...It's all about the hours for the org. or should I say it's about the #'s...& what type of person is attracted to a religion that is so into hours, #'s....ummm...I was attracted to the peace of mind that the bible brings me...they taught me the real truth about the bible...so I'm not sure how long I'll be there...Many are in the org. because it's a sense of belonging....Pioneers are pioneers, because they have a competitive spirit & much rather pioneer than be nice to a friend...

Hi,

So, Jesus gets old...ummmm....and has grey hair...so we will be re-newed but not he or his Dad...maybe the grey hair is a sign of maturity...would the sheep follow a young man...

&&& He has a beard too....someone is going to have to take Jesus to the back room to be counselled.....no beards & no long hair, Jesus....I know you are God's son & all, but that's a no no....

Wonder if a reader would ever but JW's say....in the new system, we will never get old...

Wives who complain about their husbands work schedule but refuse to get a job

i listen to one of these all time in our hall.

she brings it up constantly about how they would do this or that but he has to work that saturday.

i think she should get a job and then he could find a lower paying 9 to 5 job..

Hi,

That not only happens in the hall but in life as well...How many wives complain that their husbands work long hours, but the wife won't work, but will she drive a cheaper car..NO....a husband can't be in 2 places at the same time...if you want him home then do something to assist him...maybe get your nails & hair done less. Some woman just wanted to get married so they can stay home & not work....aka: Selfish. I do understand, that if you have children, you may spend more money on babysitting, etc. But my parents both worked...& I'm ok...Many of the sisters just want to pioneer full-time & that's ok, but if one listens to the parts at our assemblies...many of the couples sat down & made plans of how they would be able to do this. Count the cost...but many of the friends be male or female....never wanted to work...so when they hear about pioneering & God will provide, meaning the congregation will help...that's music to their ears...the same folks would be on public assistance....they would lean on anything or anybody. The more I'm in the hall, most of the friends hate their jobs....but I think it's deeper than that, I think they hate working ...period...but one thing they don't hate the money....I hear it all the time in their comments...oh my job is so stressful, blah blah blah...a job is what you make it...if they really want to know what stress is...open up your frig & no food, or you have to sleep on the park bench, or if your child wants food...now that's stress....In reality most of us don't want to work but we have to.

Witnesses... some...ar just a bunch of complainers & whinners...little kids dressed up in adult costumes. They want paradise now, so they can't deal with the realities of this present life...they are so paradise bound, they are no earthly good.

christians, should i attend kingdom hall meetings to discreetly "preach" to jws about the real jesus and the lies of the watchtower?.

Hi,

They know about Jesus...they even claim to imitate him....but they haven't grasped the power of Jesus...that Jehovah changed the rules a bit...Believe in him....& now, believe in his son Jesus Christ...that's why they/me go out in service. They feel that since they imitate him, that's enough...but they do believe he died for sins....the problem is that they don't have the love Jesus had for people, that aspect has eluded them. Their love is conditional...although at the meetings we say, Jehovah & Jesus love unconditionally & they are not partial. They love God so much, they haven't any love for anyone else...the love of Jehovah doesn't overflow to people. They missed the point about Jesus...Love...it's just a word to them or a word written in our literature...but the more I talk to some of them...they had no love in their homes...just rules & regulations & obedience. They only love their children if they are as spiritual as they are. Again, they know the real Jesus, but what they don't get is the love...You can go to the hall if you want, but like many on here have said...it's a waste of time....

I go & eat the spiritual food I need & when they are off track, I spit it out....There aren't too many places of worship one can go that something isn't right...You can pick apart any religion...As long as Man is to interpret it....We are all in trouble..The Bible is the final word...& it's not difficult to understand...Didn't Jesus say to come to him like a child...& so that means even a child should be able to read the bible & understand it...Go to the hall & find out what they know...You know there is a book they have ...The Greatest Man who ever lived...all about Jesus...so again, it's not that they don't know about him but they feel it's their duty to make Jehovah's name known....

So many folks believe God & Jesus are one...well if you are into grammar you know who is who & you is talking, but you have to take your hat off the Jesus, he reflected his Father so well, the world believes they are the same...

Hi,

You can't tell them that, because they think they have the greatest life...meanwhile, when you talk to them, many have depression....what's that about. I think at least 99% of people on earth have depression at one time or another...but if you are a witness & you only hear these are the last days, how else should one feel. I know...I'm gonna die any day now...oh, no, not today ? Ok, maybe tomorrow...oh not tomorrow either....well maybe the next day....& so on....when you live for the future, the present just passes you buy & it will be Hum drum...They claim to serve a happy God, but I don't think they know how to apply it...& how can they when they can't even say nothing about what comes from the society, whether they agree or not....Again, I think most witness suffer from supression rather than depression....

I'm a witness...I am ok, because I enjoy the friends, when I feel like it...sometimes I go with them & sometimes not. My life isn't hum drum because I have a job & interact with other people who are not witnesses & have friends that are not witnesses...that's the key....balance...

Do you think the GB ever mentions these abuse cases directly?

the title says it all, do you think that the gb will ever bring up these cases in their literature or in a talk?

i'm not talking about them just mentioning "persecution" i'm talking about actually bringing up child abuse cases and trying to justify it.. or will it just remain the elephant in the room until years have passed?.

Hi,

Remember the Zone Talk...didn't one of the brothers say Teach & Preach to your own children. Your children's life... physical, mental & spiritual belong to their parent(s). In a way they were saying...Take care of your own children. Many of the parent(s) send their kids to sit with a sister or a brother, now the impression would be...ah....she or he likes you so much....they want to sit with you...but the real reason....the parents want a break. Some even send their children to sit with another sister, just because she may not have kids of her own, so it's a pity thing. You know, she has no kids....etc. When many come into the hall, we love bomb'em...& they look at us as babysitters....I remember growing up...my parents, were very very careful of who I stayed with, even if they were family members.

I don't think they will ever mention it directly, but they'll come up with a WT article on it in the future...

The real question JW's should ask themselves is....Did the brothers tell the parents not to tell the police...oh, sure, the parents should have done it the other way...go to the police first then the elders. If the elders told them not to go to the police...now that's a different story & that's is what needs to be addressed. But the friends are afraid of that answer....that's a crime in itself.

Someone a while ago mentioned the same thing...that one of their parents got back in touch with them after many years of no communication. I also commented that we will see more of this .....as you say your Father most likely realizes that family comes first...& as you grow old, oh sure there are the friends in the hall, but they are too busy...they talk the talk & the comments are great regarding helping the older ones, but in reality, NOT.

The veil is coming off some of the friends eyes...the end isnt' here ...yet....many thought they would be in paradise by now...NOT...Many see TTATT, but don't want to be tossed out, so they are reaching out to ones who are no longer in the congregation, because who else can they voice their thoughts to.

Many of the friends know that the society flip flops, but they have decided to stay, for their own reasons....Me, I know all they teach is not in the bible, but I have made some nice friends/aquaintenances....I also keep my friends that are not in the truth..it gives me an even balance.

I am happy your father reached out to you....as I said..or, did I...LOL...at the end of the day, we have our families...they are our support group...the brothers/elders, would love to be there for all the friends, but some have their own agenda...they have families too...they are most likely burnt out...from their family & hall responsiblities. At the hall, they have to constantly put out little fires because the friends are high maintenance. Little complaints here & there...like little children...most witnesses are needed & just whinny kids in adult costumes...

Don't shun him...don't be what you hate...Love, conquers all..

How could you justify that God killed all firstborn children in Egypt?

It's all done to show God's power...now do I agree...no, but it is a bigger picture...again, he did warn them...don't think I'm happy that Jehovah killed children....but I do know, that when my Mom told me or warned me...the next step was punishment....There are so many unexplained events in the bible..for instance....why do we have to suffer for what Adam & Eve did....if you were mad at your friend, should you take it out on the rest of their family...well, if you read the bible...NO....but God can & did...I don't pretend to have the answer & it troubles me to know he killed innocent kids...but if I believe in God, then I know it was a purpose behind it & if I don't believe in God, then to kill innocent folks...no comment...

God doesn't have to justify anything....if he truly exist. I think all he wants to do is to have clean worship by any means necessary....I'm not cruel & sometimes don't agree with God....but he did what he did...& we can't turn back the hands of time....we can choose to believe or not....I believe in God & that's it...his ways...NOT...

Wow, so well written & so true. If one were to read the bible...& not listen to man...they would see why all this happened...God gives warnings...just like us today, we get warnings....do we listen...NOPE....our parents tell us...there is a wall there, be careful...& we keep right on walking...boom...right into the wall we go...I believe in God...there is so much evidence that there is....one for me...the Rainbow....God said that was his convenant to us...& still today we see it...God is the good inside us....if we choose to do it. God was making a point...he had warned them before...yet, they didn't listen...

Folks say...Pharoah's heart was hardened...well, remember this song by...Oh I forget the goup....but one of the lines was...The Oz didn't give nothing to the tin man, that he didn't already have....so Pharoah's heart was hard all along, God just allowed it to do what it already was doing...now the real miracle would be if he turned away from his hardened heart....free will...behind most sin is selfishness...Don't get mad at God, get mad at man...Today we read God's word, back then...they heard is voice...he promised so many things...God is a good God, but even he has a limit...I know nobody on this site or in this world, has the patience of God...if we were God, the bible would have ended in the first chapter...God sees & knows all...we only know a tiny bit...we are quick to anger, to speak & to act....when the fruitage of the spirit is squeezed....what comes out of us...hate, anger, harsh words, no patience....

God only wanted a peaceful earth...he didn't force it on us...he was just like our parents...hoping we would choose to be good...so it's us that let him down, not the other way around...Faith & Hope....that's all we have...that was the original plan...that Adam & Eve would have put faith in God...& it would have turned out ok...
