Believers - You need a new revelation to explain this!
by Amazing inyes ... you heard me correctly.
sometime ago we saw how chimps made tools by using other tools.
we saw how they learned language and could construct a basic sentance on their own, as well as learn to read a little ... well now ... a new study has been completed where monkeys were paid tokens for completing certain tasks ... the monkeys saved up their tokens ... and then they were offered to trade their tokens for things like food, etc.

Jimmy Carter. Not going into history as the best of chief executives but he was REAL! Still is.
I agree. He may not have been the greatest president but he's a good man, still involved in helping others, such as Habitat for Humanity. I've just always liked the man. What he didn't have was ruthlessness. It seems you need that quality to be a good president. Ghandi did say though that a leader is only a reflection of the people he leads.

When I saw the first two I choose the 1st but then I saw the one with the white background. I like that one best. I couldn't make out the wine glasses in the first two and I personally like green in a cook book. The green shows up more. Good luck with your cook book.

they rebelled and threw a fit over the unfairness and inequality.
I was talking to a lady the other day. She has two cats that have always despised each other. They have been fighting more than normal lately, because of emotional neglect from this lady. The one cat got mad at the other cat and pissed in his food bowl. That's funny.
evidence is stacked up as high as a mountain to support evolution –
That's not what I'm reading. I believe that evolution to an extent exists but not the way the Darwinians? would have you believe. I will try and post on the subject at a later date about what I've read. You know the scientists can do all the experiments they want, but the original material still has to come from somewhere. It doesn't answer the question, where, how did life come about. I will never believe that something comes from nothing.

Aztec:
Matt Groening? Thomas Hardy? Ghandi? Theodore Rooseveldt? Charles Darwin? Georgia O'Keefe? Michelangelo? Rayzorblade?
I believe that you first brought up Charles Darwin.
Please Mini, think about that. Sir Isaac Newton was one of the foremost scientific and mathematical geniuses of our time. He made so many contributions to mathematics, optics, calculus, and chemistry! He did alot more to enhance and enlighten modern society than some mythological person named Jesus.
You mentioned Isaac Newton and Jesus. My view is different and stated so.
The fact that more people would pick Jesus over someone like Newton reassures my belief that most people are not very rational.
I believe that I am rational. I would like to think that Isaac Newton was rational too.
*Insert insult here* I can take it.
Are you sure you can take it. I sense that you are getting hot under the collar.
I gave my answer and I stand by it.
Can you accept the fact that the person you chose was a strong believer in Jesus.
Maybe you also contributed into turning this into an Evolution vs Creation debate. Tinkerbell made a comment that she believed in Darwinism and I stated my belief. I do have that right-this is a discussion board. I'm sure this isn't the first post that started with one topic and ended up slightly different. Some here may think I'm being aggressive. I don't believe I am. I'm just challenging what you said. By the way did you read the link?

That's The Good Stuff...
by Country Girl ineveryone has a very emotional and special moment in their life that they will always remember.
for me, it was when i held my son in my arms for the first time, looked into his beautiful brown eyes, and fell in love for the rest of my life.
that's the "good stuff.

For me it has to be finding out that I was pregnant the first time and giving birth to my two children. (I'm now even more in awe that two human beings grew inside me) On the lighter side I will never forget a Dutch Male Choir singing for me where I worked 22 years ago. I was waitressing at the time and took care of this choir (about 50 of them). As I chit-chatted with them, I found out that they knew my uncle and two cousins (who are also involved in music) So the whole group stood up and sang to me in Dutch. (getting a little teary-eyed again)

Re Darwin: As for his negative contribution: His beliefs swayed many people into believing that there was no God. Just look at Russia to see what atheism did. I should then include Karl Marx also. Sorry to the original poster; that I changed your post from who is the greatest to who influenced society in a positive and negative way.

I believe that Newton said his thumb print was enough to convince him that God existed. I couldn’t find the proof, but this may be of interest to you.
Nature and Nature's laws lay hid in night, God said: "Let Newton be," and all was light
. Alexander Pope, Works of Alexander Pope
Given the modern tendency to view science and religion as vastly different - even oppositional - modes of thought, it is rather surprising to consider that the "father" of modern science, Isaac Newton, wrote more theological works than scientific studies. For Newton, as for many natural philosophers of his age, science did not contradict faith, but supplemented and enriched it. Exploring God's creation was a way of becoming sensitive to the glorious workings of a God whose illimitable creative powers were everywhere evident, but nowhere fully explicable. It is perhaps not an overstatement to assert that Newton conducted his science within of the mystery of his faith. Just as Jesus and the Christian message illumined Newton's life, so, too, Newton threw light upon the dark corners of human understanding.

this site may be of interest to some here who are interested in Isaac Newton
I find it hard to believe that people still believe in Darwinism. His theory: he claimed that life began millions of years ago with simple single-cell creatures and then developed through mutation and natural selection into the vast array of plant and animal life that populate the plantet. More and more biologists, biochemists, and other researchers (not just Christians) have raised serious objections to evolutionary theory in recent years, claiming that its broad inferences are sometimes based on flimsy, incomplete, or flawed data. New discoveries during the past thirty years have prompted an increasing number of scientists to contradict Darwin by concluding that there was an Intelligent Designer behind the creation and development of life. (Yes I did copy from different articles from books I have) I am so in awe of this universe that I find it impossible to believe that all this came from nothing.

Who greatly influenced society: who either saw the inherent dignity in individuals or felt that individuals lives had no meaning; for the sake of the cause, whether for religious or political reasons
on the positive: Jesus Christ, St. Francis of Assisi?, Ghandi, Martin Luther King Jr, Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks,
on the negative: Pope Urban II, Pope Innocence III, just to name a couple, Darwin?, Stalin, Lenin, Hitler, Hussein
There are so many more but I think the above greatly influenced our civilization.
Farkel: In defense of onacruse I was the one that stated the above. This is a discussion board and I believe that we have a right to state an opinion and even be allowed to change the title to suit ourselves. Now if I broke any rules please inform me. For your benefit I will state that I believe that Jesus was the Greatest Person That Ever Lived. And yes, unlike what someone else stated, there is proof that he actually existed. Was he the Son of God or was he merely a man? For me there is no question that he was, is the Son of God. Instead of nit-picking my wording why don't you take my list (positive & negative) and state your opinion on that. I have stated in another post that I wasn't going to debate an issue. It is very hard. If I change my mind that is my prerogative.
Wow, i would SO not include darwin on that list.
Tinkerbell: Can I ask why you would not include Darwin?

War of Words
by azaria inive decided not to have a war of words.
(im sure that i was part of the problem) because of stress in my own life (the death of my dad, working, studying, raising a 17 yr old, dealing with my mother, etc), i sometimes overlook key words in some peoples posts.
after reading a number of responses to a topic, i sometimes get side tracked.

I’ve decided not to have a war of words. (I’m sure that I was part of the problem) Because of stress in my own life (the death of my dad, working, studying, raising a 17 yr old, dealing with my mother, etc), I sometimes overlook key words in some people’s posts. After reading a number of responses to a topic, I sometimes get side tracked. I also realize that people’s brains are wired differently. Some may argue that my brain is wired wrong. So from now on I’m just going to state my views, and not debate with anyone. I’m just too tired. To prove my intellect is not that important to me; maybe I’m out of my league even trying to debate with some here (maybe I should have known better) I do think that we all want to be heard. I feel I’m expending too much energy in a negative way. There are more important things in life to me, and that is what I’m going to focus on. I guess I am a little oversensitive at the moment; that it seems more important to some to prove their intelligence, their wit, than caring how someone may be hurt by it. Some posts are down right mean spirited and angry. I do have free choice; I don’t have to read them or respond. I know that I’ve been a little agitated lately, and took some things too personally. If I have hurt anyone with my comments (if at times I seemed sarcastic) I do apologize. Maybe I just need to chill out for a while.
