  The ones who participate in CONvention...is it all a load of hypocrisy?

  i am talking about the ones who get special mentions or interviews or part in assemblies and conventions, they are usually stars of the congregation at least as acknowledged by boe.

  when i had interacted personally with these people, i did not find them special in any way.

  they neither reflected any true love for j, but were quite the very opposite and ambitious to be the best in "the organization", with very little humility.

  My sister almost died.

  ever since i was a little boy i've been aware of this vague story about my older sister having some issues at birth, but never knew the details.. yesterday i was having a conversation with a much older cousin, who is a non-practicing jw about different watchtower issues.

  while discussing the blood issue she totally came out with the story about my sister, which i never knew before.. when my sister was born some 40 years ago, my mother had the delivery at home with the help of a midwife.

  i'm not entirely sure why this decision was made instead of going to a hospital.

  This is an incredible story! Your uncle is a brave man. We should NEVER share with anything with any JW when undergoing any medical treatments as there is a good possibility of getting succumbed to the pressure. Glad that things turned out well. :)

  Mom & Dad (Uber Dubs) and convo about child abuse within the BORG

  so i tt mom and dad via skype last weekend (they live on the other part of the county) and the topic of abuse came up.

  of course they went ahead and blasted catholics for their coverups.

  i mentioned gonzalo campos, now mom and dad know this guy he went to their hall for several years in san diego.

  Nightmares when active JW

  i remember when i was active, i would constantly get nightmares regarding armageddon.. used to wake up so many times at night watch my window, pray hard and try to go to sleep.

  now i wonder that this organization was really succcessful in making people scared to death about 'current system of things', but why would anyone do that?

  why would anyone want to bring division in families, make hate speeches, scare people to death, etc?

  SafeAtHome - I know those pictures.. Good that i got 'The Troof' when i was 24. But i can imagine what must have gone through innocent childrens' minds. Darn these brainwashing cult!

  fulltimestudent - Yes, i feared that most of the times. I always thought may be i can take all the tribulation at armageddon and one thing i couldnt take would be my baby sufferring due to my deads and getting killed! o_O

  i've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.

  in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .

  Nice thread Mr. Flipper. Enjoyed reading everyone's comments here. Never once that i was out in the ministry, did anyone say, Oh - i need to pass this message to everyone i meet today so that i can save some at least. Where as everytime it was about - I am yet to do 'x' hours for this month, may be i can adjust next month / may be i can do letter writing and complete those hours.

  This makes me believe that this 'man-made' organization is like any other company who just need numbers to prove their stance and to have strong hold over people. I have had issues with reporting hours even before baptism. None was able to justify why did neither Jesus nor any of his disciples did not report hours. By making it number driven, I have also noticed that most of them dont do it whole-heartedly, but just for the sake of pleasing congregation elders or leaders and reaching their goal of meeting hours. I made a mistake by ignoring few things that i was not convinced but sincerely thought that these will get answered in due time. But now time has run out and i am happy to be my old-self! Hail TTATT..!
