i am feeling down... i feel trapped, and don't know what to do... just need to vent here i guess.... so my mom calls me today, and asks how i am doing.

"how are you doing spiritually?

" i respond... yeah, you know, the usuals... service, meeting, etc.... she tells me that she's doing a lot of service with my dad... i say, "great!"...

Dear ILTTATT

Just consider telling your mum how you feel (the truth), like you did with your dad.

She will maybe not have the same opinion as you. But a huge weight would be off from you and your dad..

I did the same with my mum and dad. They undrrstand my feelings and we continue to have healthy discussions.

Probably speak to your dad first, before you take any steps.

EVIL SLAVE IS HYPOTHETICAL

the quotation used in today's wt study about the evil slave "being for all practical purposes, hypothetical", is taken from the net bible and was written by a bible 'scholar' from christendom!.

three points:.

1. jesus always spoke by means of illustrations & parables.. 2. matthew 24:45-47 is a parable!.

How wt explains it, it could well be that they thenselves become this evil slave.

When I think about their bloodguilt because of the blood doctrin, the lack of love and natural affection they promote through the disfellowshipping and shunning, I think they already became that evil slave.

They wrote that Jesus will decide if that slave will be faithful or evil. But at the same time they say that they are faithful. That's like a school kid who was writing an exam and says "My exam is the best" before the teacher even looked at it.

An Elder Reads CoC !!

i have recently joined the site.

i was just appointed an elder this summer.

i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.

Dear TTATTelder

I am feeling with you. 4 years ago they appointed me elder. In the talk with 2 elders before the announcement was made, I told them I didn't want to become an elder as I have doubts about certain topics. They just said that everyone has some doubting points. They pushed me into it.

2 years ago I couldn't bear it longer and wrote a letter that I don't want to be an elder anymore because I don't agree with disfellowship arrangement and doubt some bible passages where Jehovah is ordering genocide. They were shocked but accepted my stepping down. I just couldn't bear it longer the hypocrisy of being an elder with feelings that so much is wrong in the organisation.

In the last 2 years I researched more (especially also about blood). It is sad though that it damaged my marriage, as my wife just can't accept that I have different religious feelings than her. I don't know where this will end but sometimes it is like walking through a minefield.

But I tell you the feeling was great the day when I was no elder anymore.

i was informed that due to oct 5th wt biz meet all meetings for that week are cancelled,.

i asked if the mid week meeting was also and was told yes, because of the assembly.. it seems there's an overload of theocratic alternative banqueting feasts available so.

that the regular menu at the kh is not necessary for that week.

Well, thats just for us or canada.

Here in Switzerland and Germany no one even cares or knows that there will be an annual meeting and that there will be probably some news.

Change in the "Flood"?

i remember hearing about a change or backpedaling in the whole thought of a global flood.

was there "new light" or a different understanding?

About 1 year ago I wrote them a letter showing them reasons for human life before bible chronology (cave paintings in cosquer and chauvet cave in france). The answer was that all dating methods with a pre flood age are not reliable due to the global flood.

That led me to research dating methods. I could mention a lot of scientific and biblical reasons why the flood could not have been global (just local "see scientists Pitman and Ryan with Black sea flood).

But if people want to believe in it, they say "for god nothing is impossible" and dismiss all logic reasons.

anybody else in the situation i am?

me and the wife go to a hall that is pretty "hands off".

i have not really been out in service for probably 1.5 years and my wife has went out maybe 3 times in the last year.

I think it is great that your wife has such an open mind. Like that you have a lot in common and talk use your independent thinking, independent of the society.
