THEY'VE DONE IT!!!! The WBTS set a new date!
by dmouse inthe latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.
ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.
but does that mean that the big a isn't near?

good news from Vicki Boer
by needs_lots inlooks like the letter writting campaign has paid off !!!!!!!!!!!!
the jw's have dropped costs, and there will be no exchange of money.
(which, yes, means i still will not receive my huge $5000.00 judgement) (thanks judge molloy!?

I assumed from the beginning that the decision to go after Vicki for their costs was getting in first before she went after them for hers. I still can't understand how she can have "won" but they don'thave to pay her costs. Canadian law? I dunno. But I am confident "doing the right thing" never entered WTS's minds, regardless of letter writing!

What Would Happen If You Just Walked Into A Kingdom Hall This Sunday?
by minimus inthat's the question my wife asked me this morning.
"what would happen if we just walked into the kingdom hall this morning?
would the elders be waiting to talk to us?

I get the feeling that anyone who walked into a "Public Meeting" would be treated with suspicion unless they were introduced by a member in good standing. Who knows who that stranger is--after all you could be welcoming an apostate or an opposer! Is that right?

My Ears are Hurting!
by iiz2cool insome time back, when i was heading to work, a woman sat beside me in the subway car.
after a few moments, she glared at me, and said, ?can?t you move your knees closer together????
being accustomed to hearing stupid, trivial complaints, my response was quick.

The site isn't on the fringe--the site is a satire. And a very funny one at that.

La Capra, that makes sense. I was not aware that the United Way could, essentially, collect money for an agency that they did not and would not ordinarily fund. Scully's comment: "Of course, the "flip side" of that is that in the case of any Worldly Person? who does not designate their donation, the WTS will get a piece of the pie!" is what made me sit up and take notice. I'm pretty sure that, to be a United Way funded agency, you have to actually do something for people and not just the people who belong to your club. If the United Way is giving any portion of what they collect, other than what people give specifically to the Watchtower, I am both going to be really upset and have to re-think my pledge!
