  i know it sounds impossible and probaly is.. but with the constant scandals, and all the info available, do you see the watchtower collapsing in our lifetime (from now to 2053) ?????????.

  I keep thinking, if Scientology can survive, anything can survive! So as long as there are people who are drawn to JW, and there is no reason that pool will dry up completely, JW will continue.

  most jws i've known aren't that bright, and it seems that most that leave are really intelligent.. just an observation.

  the writers of the simpsons must have had jw contacts.. think of ned flanders and his family, totally jw!!.

  think ofmr burns doesnt he look just like that evil elder who would always open the theocratic ministry school?.

  i am absolutely certain that fred hall is spitting image of mr burns, i can picture him so clearly in his grey raincoat and gold leaf dog eared bible walking hunchedup in the rain pestering people on a sunday afternoon.....

  I seem to recall that when we were looking at a house they owned, the assessed value was something around $75,000 while the sales price was something around $255,000. Would that hold in this kind of situation? Sales price approx 3 times the assessed value?

  Well, there is the native ability you are born with and the intelligence you develop throughout your life. JW as an organization (at least according to their literature that I have slogged through) has no intellectual integrity. The writing style is intentionally abstruse; the logic is intentionally convoluted. I believe both characteristics are designed to make things so hard to understand that when a direct statement is made, it is accepted without reservation just out of relief! Oh, is *that* all they're talking about? And, the strategy also ensures that JWs doubt their own intelligence and ability to reason. The Watch Tower's insistence that "the truth" is based on logic makes me nuts. This is Alice in Wonderland logic at best. But if the only intellectual training you've gotten is through the organization, you are not likely to understand that it is not *you* who can't understand, but *they* who are working to confuse and befuddle you in order to control you and build their organization. Also, the more I read, the more I believe that JW induces depression in a lot of the faithful. Depressed people look and act as if they are not intelligent.
