While Joe Cocker may have done a memorable cover, "You Can Keep Your Hat On" is Randy Newman.

It would make all the difference in the world if JWs worked towards improving their communities and helping their neighbors. The only reason I can think of for banning that is that JWs would get to know and care about their communities and neighbors and we can't have that, now, can we.

Witnessing: Turning the Tables on Them
by cruzanheart ina couple of weeks ago i started an irritable thread about the girl at work who gave out my home phone number -- from the firm's confidential internal phone list -- to an old friend i hadn't talked to in about 20 years.
i smelled a set-up and made a stink at work about it.
as far as i know, she was "talked to" and the subject was briefly mentioned at a staff meeting that i missed due to being out of town.. well, i thought about it for a few days and decided to give the old friend a call anyway.

Just had huge arguement outside hall....
by Gadget ina few days ago i sent a message to an elder(one of the ones from my jc) asking him if he could get in contact with my girlfriend because i was very worried about her.
after the meeting tonight he asked if he could have a chat with me outside the hall.
he explained that he could not get in contact with her, as she was out of his jurisdiction.

What in the world could he get sued for? It just sounds as if he's saying he doesn't have to so he's not going to.

...Back from the Convention today.
by ScoobySnax inok so i braved the traffic in london all along the south circular to nw london to get to twickenham convention today.
i must admit to getting a bit freaked when the traffic ground to a halt in central london, but eventually got to the stadium.
well i only got to the sunday pm part of the programme, for the public discourse, "who are giving god glory today"....handled by a very able speaker.

As an outsider, who has read all the topics about, essentially, how deadly conventions are, this thread is something of an eyeopener. Or at least an eyebrow-raiser.

I thought that little article was a stitch! Just disappointed that it was so short.
