You can't blame Omorosa; Quami made a big mistake choosing her.
Why in the world would anyone with a brain choose that woman with her record?

Even the DMV clerk is a JW..
by Sassy ini go to get my drivers license renewed today and wouldn't you know.. a jw waited on me.. she was looking at my address and saying about how the assembly hall is right there... yada yada yada.. i paused for a second wondering if i should pretend to be a jw still.. i mean i needed my license.. and i was a little concerned she was going to push for proof of insurance (which i forgot to bring with me).. so i wanted to be on her good side.. then it dawned on me.....i had checked the box about registering to vote.......
exnay on the pretending to be a jw still..
then i thought i could say my mom was a jw.. a pioneer even..

For those with family in the org...
by kibizzle in...have they justified the un involvement to you by saying that the wts was only getting information for their magazines, that they weren't "aiding" them in their political work, so the involvement was ok?.
imo, there is no justification for the un invovement.
how do you reason with your family when they defend the actions of the wts?

For many JWs, the religion is like an addiction. Yes, they are in denial - No different than an addict's behavior. Only if and when they hit bottom, will they listen and take corrective action.

Do you think Jesus would get disfellowshipped?
by Nosferatu inif jesus were a jw, do you think he would be disfellowshipped for his conduct?
-
LoverOfTruth
Jesus Christ would be labeled the "#1 Apostate" Jesus questioned, even chastised the Religious Leaders. Many of us were disfellowshipped for the same.

Went To The Quick Build
by Undecided ini just returned from the building site of the new kh.
i had never seen a quick build.
it kind of made me sad, i saw so many old friends that i used to know.
-
LoverOfTruth
For those who feel rather sentimental over the "quick builds" I would suggest getting involved with a "Habitat For Humanity" Build. It's a great opportunity to get to make new friends and it's lots of fun. The persons getting the house also help.

IEmpty feeling
by Ray6 iniam a jw right now, and iam on public reproof.
the problem is: even before i was reproved, i did not feel like i was apart of a loving family, i did not feel or see true love in the org., i felt empty after every meeting, as if i sat in a business recruitment course or weekly business seminar.
i feel a lot of the poeple there, especially the elders are backstabbers.

Hi Ray.
So happy to have you here with us.
While it is sad to have your family turn against you, please remember you will soon be on your own and will build a life of your own. That's a normal part of growing up.

Did The "Ressurection Hope" Keep You Involved As A Witness?
by minimus ini know a number of persons that remained as jws because they desperately wanted to see their loved ones come back from the grave and be there to welcome them.
they were afraid that if they died at armageddon or were not totally faithful that there would be a great possibility of never seeing them again........was that "ressurection hope" a big draw for you remaining a witness?
-
LoverOfTruth
Tell them that you'll tell your parents yourself when you see them in heaven.
AMEN!

POLL: If you're not actively a Christian - do you celebrate Easter?
by somebodylovesme ini actually forgot it was easter this weekend.
someone mentioned it yesterday, and i was pretty embarassed to have missed that little line on my calendar.
oh, well; since we are not practicing any religion and feel no more affinity toward christianity than toward, say, sikhism, i felt no ache in not partaking in the bunny-rabbit traditions.

I'm all for Easter and so are my girls Rosie Louise and Lola Lu!
