  Lunar eclipse April 14th 2014

  it says it's the 15th but that's in ut.

  i am in utc-6 (on dst) so for me and those who have a chance to see it it will be on the 14th starting at 9:58pm and ending at 2:58 am on the 15th.. .

  galileo is said to have uttered, or probably muttered these words in front of the inquisition after supposedly having reacanted his teaching that the solar system is heliocentric, as his predecessors kepler and copernicus had worked out.

  (and a guy in 3rd century b.c greece !).

  why was galileo unable to go back to his belief held by him in his youth, and nearly all people in christendom, that the earth was at the centre of the solar system and all the planets revolved around it ?.

  Which begs the question, WHY would "Jehovah's Organization" endorse a demon-inspired or even a supposedly-demon-inspired book??

  in the spanish website extj one forum user shows evidence that on the 18th and 19th of september in chile the government calls to honor the nation displaying the national flag everywhere.

  failure to do so is liable to a fine.

  Well folks if you want more proof then we will have to wait until September. I have asked exJW friends in Chile to take as many picture of Kingdom Halls as possible that have the flag... So this September we should have more proof.

  a member of mexico's branch committee went to guadalajara to inform the brothers that a plot of land had been donated for the construction of an assembly hall.

  Translating JWFacts to Spanish... Update?

  as you all may know, it is an ongoing project to translate jwfacts to spanish.

  given that there are more than 2 spanish-speaking jw's for every one that speaks english, it can be safely said that spanish is the #1 language in the jw world (even though everything is made originally in english).. the spanish-speaking jw's are harder to convince.

  i attribute it almost 100% to socioeconomic factors.

  Hmmm... so in the best case scenario, the money that was "earmarked" for the assembly hall construction will go to the circuit account, and never back to the families/people who donated in case they don't want their money used that way.

  When I read Hildebrando's post my heart sank...

  These brothers and sisters are VERY poor... Some of them would be lucky to make more than 500 dollars a month... and Hildebrando's blog says that some of the brothers and sisters donated their yearly bonuses or they made extraordinary efforts to provide for this proyect... and nothing has come of it!!
