not only that but people have witnesses on their jobs who elders can use to get you fired or at job agencies or someone who knows someone can turn friends bosses and others against you.

The Co-Worker JW
by berylblue inas some of you may remember, i started a new job a month ago and discovered a co-worker was a jw (saw an "examing" book in his drawer, and he spoke of not celebrating birthdays).
well, one day some of us newbies were talking and somehow someone started telling really bad jw jokes.
now, all during hr indoctrination, we were told never to make jokes about someone's religion (duh) because that person could be offended and report the source of the jokes.

by minimus inpage 32 shows the example of a young woman in poland who had to make the decision to either follow the simple custom of bribing the teachers with money or gifts to get better grades or to follow the bible and realize that god disapproves of any bribery.
she said," i understood how easy it is to succumb to peer pressure.
i thought it over and since then never shared in this custom again.

they seem more like a not for profit organization sort of buisness that instead of choosing the arts or humanitarian efforts they chose religion as their MO. Free furniture free computers and software the legal right to recruit volunteers, tax exemption free building spaces etc and many other perks.

I know that most JW's are seriously stupid and gullable people, but the rest of us in the world do not make a habit of rejecting knowledge.
Yes i do read alot, i love to read, anything or topic that is well written. I have seen how destructive messing with a persons spiritual beliefs can be and how it can destroy someone. And thanks to this board and many others i understand the mental and emotional changes and sadness my mother is going through.
you're damned right i study alot. I try to understand how things like this can legally happen in america, just because its a religious entity. How people can be so stupid as to follow them and never ask questions. I read all things, and my friends come from other religious backgrounds so i listen to them as well. you should understand why i would want to search these other books, i want to know if there is any such thing as god or was it made up just to control people.
As I've mentioned before in other topics my mother was a JW, so i know a thing or two about them and have seen alot of devious behavior first hand.
She let me grow up as a normal person and told me to choose for myself.
Sometimes i think JW's and WT own this website and the other boards. Wouldn't you people have to pay them for use of the WT logos
and direct literature Quotations? Big Asshole!!! You pissed me off!!!

i was told i don't have to worry about death and old age anymore but when i look around jw's were dropping like flies, old age sickness, accidents blood issue etc.
