the word out of bethel is of a mass purge the likes of the 1980's.. there's also possible public reproofs handed out for irregular ones.. .

I've thought about this allot....and I go back and forth. On one hand, they wouldn't dare do a sweeping move like that. Their numbers would fall way way too much. BUT.....on the other hand, it would not surprise me. What have we always heard beaten into us from the stage? The service work it what makes them a "witness", it's a corner stone and a identifing sign of being a JW. So.....if you're not putting in hours over a period of time......you are not a true witness andcertainly not a JW. I know ALLOT of them....many of them in my family....and they beat on me, on that point. So....again....would not surprise me at all if they ever came down with something like that.
I had the same problem........I thought Outlaw what completely out of his mind and screwing with us......then....when no one was looking, i tried it, just like he said. HOLY CRAP IT WORKED! I will never doubt Outlaw again.......
how many here are (a) ex-jw, (b) non-jw with jw relatives or spouses, (c) inactive jw, or (d) active jw who stay in for your own reasons?.
Totally inactive, but show up once or twice a month for family reasons.....

No doubt!! Gotta remember.......it's beaten into them...how evil and wicked "this old world" is and how badly we need the "new system". When you are taught from day one how bad things are....and knowing deep down inside, the "new order" is a pipe dream...a carrot hang in front of them to keep them going.......that's gotta have a HUGE affect on a person's mental state.
perhaps, one of the most arrogant and contradicting behaviors of jdubs.... what is the difference between celebrating a baby shower and a birthday?...they both have ancient origins, from pagan people, including egyptians and the greek.... have you guys noticed any other hypocrite celebrations/behaviors jdubs engage in?.

What's interesting is that the only mention of holidays is under the "Apostasy" heading. BUT, birthdays are not a "religious" holiday......so technically, you could fight it and show from their OWN book........show where birthdays are bad??
i was at a amusement park here in calgary today.
my jw mother and my young brother came to visit for a week,so me and my sister thought it would a nice idea to take them to do something fun.

What I really really don't get is, knowing it's out there, why would the GB mention it in a talk at a convention?? Every thing they do, every word spoken at conventions, most times are so carefully chosen.......everything they do and say at a convention, special talk,ect....has a purpose. What is their endgame....their reason for mentioning it?? They gotta know, anyone with half a brain or a lil independent thought is gonna look it up! Why mention it? Are they looking to weed out R & F that ask about it, knowing they would have to have gotten from "apostate" sites?? I don't get it........

I know what you mean......the extent of how truly bad he was, wasn't clear at that point. But, he was that bad, and yet, the spirit directed them to write that letter. Gotta put on the JW hat here........they believe angels and demons are always watching us humans...24/7 as well as God. And God can read hearts and minds......hard for me to believe that Hitler come up with his murderous plan after the letter, directed by holy spirit, was written.
I think they got caught with their pants down......and the internet is bringing it into light. So the solution is to make it a story crafted by apostates.....CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? It's the apostate smoke screen, demonizing them/us.
