I don't necessarily believe in playing the field, but I think people can have relationships with others before getting married. I had no idea what I was in for when I moved in with my wife, but after a year of living together we were ready to get married because we realized we were compatible. I can't imagine going into that blind and then realizing that we couldn't live together. While I don't believe in sex for the sake of having sex, I do believe in sex before marriage because that's another thing you have to be compatable with, and not everyone is compatible with everyone else.

Love And Marriage Was The WatchtowerÂ’s Way An Advantage?
by The wanderer in<!-- .style1 { font-family: verdana, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; } .style2 { font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #8668e0; } .style3 {font-family: arial; font-size: 18px; color: #3300cc; } --> love and marriage was the watchtowers way an advantage?the thought of one man and woman bonded through matrimony was always appealing.
the society used to stress chaperons, however, i think in todays day and age.
however, did the societys way prove helpful in certain respects?.

Is God your best Friend?
by TooBad TooSad inthis statement.
started me thinking.
i love god and pray to him but i am not sure that he should be considered.

I guess if I were as hypocritical as alot of elders, stickler for the letter of the law, I suppose God would be my best friend.
For me, if I had a friend that didn't listen to what I said, never spoke to me, and ignored anything I asked him to help with, it would be God.

To err is human... to really mess things up requires a computer.
by Elsewhere inhttp://www.cnn.com/2007/world/americas/04/19/canada.couch.ap/index.html?eref=rss_topstories.
chinese translation error blamed for slur on sofa label.
toronto, ontario (ap) -- doris moore was shocked when her new couch was delivered to her toronto home with a label that used a racial slur to describe the dark brown shade of the upholstery.. the situation was even more alarming for moore because it was her 7-year-old daughter who pointed out "nigger brown" on the tag.. "my daughter saw the label and she knew the color brown, but didn't know what the other word meant.

Moore is consulting with a lawyer and wants compensation. Last week, she filed a report with the Ontario Human Rights Commission.
Why? Yeah it's a horrible word and all, but seriously rip off the tag and keep the couch.
I don't really get it, compensation for what? To me if I was a Judge it would be "She gets her money back on the couch but she has to return the couch." I'll bet any amount of money that she's consulting a lawyer now and that's not part of the agreement, she wants compensation AND wants to keep the couch.
Something more has to be done. We don't just need a personal apology, but someone needs to own up to where these labels were made, and someone needs to apologize to all people of color
So if they send out a press release apologizing, would that mean she would drop the lawsuit? I'm guessing by something more needs to be done it means she gets money.

US SUPREME COURT RULED AGAINST PARTIAL BIRTH ABORTIONS
by juni inand i say thank god that this abhorrent practice is not legal any longer.. i don't feel rowe vs. wade (the right of a women to an abortion) should be banned, but definitely partial birth abortions should be.. am i for willy nilly abortion?
but if there were ever a situation say a woman's health was in jeapordy i feel she should have the right to a legal ending of her pregnancy.. for those that choose abortion as a means of birth control or some other lame reason, i believe that is wrong.. how do you feel?.

Late term and partial birth abortions are not always the same thing. Please keep in mind that we are discussing the partial birth abortion method. If the baby's life is in danger, how are you helping the baby to deliver its feet and then poke scissors up through the back base its skull, turning the brain to mush with the scissors and then suctioning out the brain? This makes the baby safer is what way?
The method is the issue here it seems. I never said anything about helping the baby with this method, it's an abortion, the fetus will be killed regardless of the method. My standpoint is that if there is an issue, an abortion could be warranted. The reason I said late-term abortions is because in my mind I have an issue with what is considered late. I know my wife is 3 months pregnant now, and there could possibly be some issues with the pregnancy, we won't know for another month, and even then the doctor could say "let's track this and see in another month" at which point it's considered late term when in reality it would be the first point we would really be finding out the issue at hand. Maybe my issue is a discussion for another thread though, so if I'm confusing the issue at hand whether the idea of a partial-birth abortion (which from what I read was the term given to a late term abortion by a pro-life politician) being the time in which the baby is aborted and the method which is used I apologize.

Personally I feel if there's a chance the mother or the baby will not survive the birth then abortions can be deemed necessary. Not all issues will come along before the fetus if 5 months old. I'm against it if the person just doesn't want the pregnancy because there's an earlier point to have that discussion, but if there's an issue I support late-term abortions.

1995 The Year That Saw A Turning Point

Hey you can believe there's a push to get numbers up in some congregations. I know my old congregation split and I'm now included as a unbaptized publisher in the new congregation which I never attended. At least that's what I'm told. I was never there mentally and was counted, this isn't much of a jump.

Eh, I'd encourage her to go after the non-JW guy. Let her know fornication is only fornication if you're not married. Just say the worst that would happen is that she would be disfellowshipped for a little while, and in that time the guy will be able to speak to her and let her know that you would be there to support her as well. That would lead to her either telling you that it's not a guy, or she would actually get with the guy and you would know then for sure. Besides if her friend is also going after the brother of this guy, let her know if her and her friend married them at the same time or went after them at the same time and were both disfellowshipped they would be able to support each other as well.

I don't really think there's as much of a comeback as one would think. Whenever my mother is telling me about the hall it's always just the ones that were like 10 and 11 when I left that are now getting married and pioneering and whatever. So in the mid-late 90's it was my generation that was building up the numbers, then came the HUGE disfellowshipping and leaving around 2000. I'm sure around 2010 or so you'll see another mass exodus.

eh, you can say whatever you want as long as you put a bunch of scriptures into it. Actually that's funny I just wrote this long thing saying God wouldn't destroy anyone at Armageddon with the scriptural data backing it up on the Bible Research area of the site. Steal anything you want
