What does your desktop wallpaper look like?
by JH inthere are so many to choose from over the net.
i usually use the basic wallpapers that windows xp provide.. i love using "azul" wallpaper to remind me of the summer, since our summers don't last long.. .
this time of year i turn to the "autumn" wallpaper with the nice colored leaves.. .

Wohooo ... last university assignment finished !
by Simon init feels soooo good having finished the last assignment for the open university courses i've been doing - the 18th one this year .
now i just have to revise for the exams (3 of them over 2 days) ... and if i get at least 40% then i pass, get an extra qualification and we get extra immigration points to get us on our way to canada.
anything extra is a bonus ... distinctions would be nice but i need to get 85% in the exams for that.. although i resent the impact of the wts on my life and not being able to go to university when i should, this actually isn't a bad way to do it - you don't run up massive debts like current students do and because you have more experience probably do better at a subject than if you are starting out.

Two pictures of my mom...
by bebu inone was taken about one month ago, near a beach where our family was camping.
my parents boated over to see us, and it was a beautiful day.
i happened to take one of the best photos i've ever seen of my mom: relaxed and confident, smiling with eyes twinkling, enjoying the beautiful day.

My mom's being told to shun me.
by GetBusyLiving inthose goofy bastards are up to their old tricks again.
some background: i disassociated a year ago and explained why i was leaving to my mom, who agreed with me and told me that she's been thinking of leaving the dubs for nearly ten years.
she's been inactive for the past year and happier than ever.

Describe yourself for a date....................(no crazy chicks)
by vitty in.
this got me thinking when i read ballistics topic about his internet dating.. now since i havent dated anyone for 28 years, i know its unbelieveable, cos im so young, but being married to the fella i met when i was sweet 16, i would really hate to start dating again .
anyway my question:: how would you describe yourself in a column of a newspaper or on the internet if you were looking for a date.

All around, I would say I’m a very nice well-balance person who gets along with everyone.
Elsewhere, you have to be "well-balanced" when you are sitting in trees......

Ozzie's Weekend Poll #147 Charity begins at..........
by ozziepost inhow's this weekend treating you?.
it's hard, i know, to get too excited when so many in the southern usa are suffering so much, but time for reflecting on the truth about "the troof", so settle back with a nice refreshing drink and ponder awhile with us over this weekend's poll.. the question is ................................. .
if the elders announced we were to work in the kingdom hall with the salvation army on poor relief, i would......... 1. jump at the chance.. 2. send a "question from readers" to the watch tower.. 3. pinch myself to see if i was dreaming.. 4. complain to the circuit overseer about our 'apostate' elders.. 5. ask them who 'qualified' for the 'privilege'.

3. (would be like Aliced in wonderland...)
but my first thought (reading the topic) at home - as we say in Dutch: "verbeter de wereld, begin bij jezelf - or in your own neighbourhood)

We've just got a great day on a terras in the Vondelpark - then we joined a coffeeshop "de Rookerij" (they offer real coffee too...) and after that dinner in an Argentina steak restaurant (delicious food) with the 12 of us.
We only missed Bas but then there was Edward ... who heard of our little apostafest, who came and stick to us till the end of the evening.
Gyles, thanks a lot for organizing - it was great !!!
