and from the bible (Solomon) as well:
"There is more between heaven and earth"
Maybe reincarnation ? try it another time with another religion ? Learning to be a better human being ?
The Buddhist are saying that God has a thousand of names (and one of them could be Jehovah)
But in this life we will never know for sure.....
Curious if I ever will know.

If God doesn't exist, what's your future?
by JH inmany here don't believe in god anymore so can't believe in any resurrection.
so what do you expect once you die?.
and if you believe that there is nothing after this life, are you working overtime in this life to get the most out of it because there is nothing after...

Happy Father's Day
by teejay inmy parents were divorced before i started school.
although my father still lived in the same town, between the ages of 5 and 20 i saw him maybe 10 times.
so, i was raised without a father or any other male role model, for that matter.

It was nice to read what you had to tell.
I raised my daughter from her 3rd alone, making mistakes, but doing the best I could.
Now she is a grown-up (25 yet) and I think I have done a good job after all. (at least she told me)
We had a little ritual as well saying: We love each other, we take care for each other.

Do you LONG to be disfellowshipped?
by nicolaou inquestion to all the inactives.
we all know why we try to do the 'slow fade' - family & friends - but be honest, don't you sometimes just wish that those bloody elders would get on with it and df you?
aren't you sick of the pretense that isn't really a pretense.

It's easy to go on for me the way I'm doing right now.
Living half an hour away from the congragation, nobody can walk to my door.
The elders sometimes try to call me, and when they hear I got visitors (my df-daughter Vivamus) they say its probably better they give me a ring another time.
I don't want to be df - means that I could not speak to a lot of people anymore - so I leave it the way it is yet.
But I do agree that it would clear the air.

Avengers, sorry to hear that.
My ISDN was out of order twice by induction during a heavy lightning.
Getting the electricity off for 5 minutes did the trick to reset the damned thing.
Took still two hours before PTT Telecom told me what to do.
You are sure your ISDN smart vox (or whatever is the name) is "kaduuk" ? and this happened more then once to you ?
By the way, I am very sorry that I could'nt make it after all last Sunday. I really would have enjoyed meeting you and the others.
I am still very curious who are the other Dutch members.
Maybe another time in the future.

Is there a woman who has never ...
by Brummie inbeen on a diet?.
i see women as skinny as toothpicks striving to lose weight.
every lady i know seems to be obsessed with loosing an ounce.

I was on a diet at least 4 serious times during the last 30 years, I allways managed to reduce my weight, but every time when I stopped and started to live normal again, I gained all those weight and more each time.
Last year I started with a fithness program (for health) and till my surprise I lost several kg. I started to make long walks with my dogs each day and I changed the kind of food I eat not for a diet but because it very tasty (now lots of fruit and raw vegetables: salads) I lost 24000 grams (24 kg)in total.
You suggested "Do they happily diet and enjoy it or are they forever unhappy and striving? And isnt it easier to just drink water" I hate drinking water - I prefer wine or milk or fruitjuices, but never water - thats for fish.
I read something over a weight calculator for bmi (body mass index), telling you what your weight should be.
I do have an easier way: just stepping on a scale with a computer chip. giving me directly my weight (and between with numbers it should be) how much fat I am carrying with me, and what my lean mass (flesh and bones) is.
Sadly I still have to loose 12000 grams - but I'm confident that I will lost that as well.
And that, after I decided I never would go on a diet again - and I 'm still
eating everything I want (but different taste now)

What did you do to keep yourself amused at the KH?
by be wise inwhen i was very young about 12 or 13 my brother [he's mad, not much older] sometimes used to do a cheeky magic trick during the watchtower[god, this was the most boring of them all, i think].
he used to put his hands by his side and miraculously the books on his lap would rise all by themselves [yeah, you guessed it ...morning glory], well it made me laugh my head off.
i bet people could see my shoulders bouncing up and down from the back row.

going each hour to my car, to walk the dogs out and give them fresh water. had an excuse: coul'nt leave the poor beast the whole day in the car, since none of our family was willing to take care for them once we were going to a congress. (every other opportunity - just for fun - gave no problem at all)
Glad I'm out.
