  you have until you are 20yrs old, to report it, and sue for damages......... some lawyers suggest around $$$$450,000.......four hundred and fifty thousand us dollars............ because of all the damage they did to you..................... if you have all the facts, .........the names and places...........and it's all legit.............i suggest way more for damages......... to help correct the problem.

  The best source of information on your legal position is a lawyer with experience in this type of case. Although litigation may produce compensation and personal closure, there are negative aspects as well, including likely intense and sometimes humiliating questioning during depositions and the possibility of being required to testify in a trial. The settlement amounts bantered about here are not worthy of consideration as they are meaningless. Every case is unique, and settlements depend on many circumstances, including without limitation the motivation of the defendant to settle the case. Quantification of a standard settlement is impossible.

  Remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Make sure you do your homework before jumping into something you don't know about.

  I find it hilarious how you constantly change the issue so as to avoid facing the reality that you made an offensive statement that had absolutely no support. You insulted legal professionals and disparaged our legal system and the Constitution upon which it is based. You provided absolutely zero facts to support your comments. Now you want to try to argue small points since you've failed miserably to defend the outrageous comments that precipitated this dialogue.

  Your tactics are very similar to those the Jehovah's Witnesses employ every time I discuss their faith with them. I guess they trained you well.

  I don't dislike you being here, so you need to get off the defense and deal with the issues, rather than your delusions about the thoughts of others.

There is absolutely no basis for this statement that disparages not only legal professionals, but also those who drafted our Constitution and its amendments. I believe in our Constitution and those who have given their lives to protect it. Your comments provoked the same feeling in me that I get when I watch folks burning our flag.

  You have provided no basis whatsoever for the outrageous and offensive comments you made; rather, you simply provided the following conclusory statement: "I'm sorry but it is in fact not horseshit." Then you bragged about who you know. I guess you're right, your comments weren't horseshit, they are BULLSHIT. Your purported associations with legal professionals and law enforcement personnel do not provide any support whatsoever for your ludicrous comments and are absolutely irrelevant to this issue.

  With all due respect, plmkrzy, this is absolute horseshit. Our "system" is based on our U.S. Constitution, the document that is the backbone of our legal system and our way of life in this country. The Constitution protects you, and I, and all other people in this country. If you don't like our "system of things," then maybe you should join a cult that promises a "new system" or move to a country with laws more consistent with your personal ideals.

  Why is it that you need to disparage judges, DAs, lawyers, and public defenders? From my perspective, this unjustified bashing of legal professionals reflects very poorly on you.

  You are correct as to your assessment of the cost of executing folks in this country. It is far more expensive to execute prisoners than to imprison them for life. Cost is indeed a consideration that supports the use of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole as an alternative to the death penalty.

  Personally, I think it is a shame that in the USA we hold ourselves out as the leaders in civil rights yet we lower ourselves on this issue to the standards of China, Iran, Libya, and other countries where civil rights are nonexistent or extremely limited. I hope that some day we will evolve into a less bloodthirsty society.

  Well,

  The views expressed here are typical of the US population at large. The vast majority support it, but that doesn't make it right. However, this issue is one that no one is going to change their mind about based on forum dialogue, so it is really a moot point, much like abortion and other controversial topics.

  Dutchie,

  Even when I was subjected to forced meeting attendance and witnessing, I never believed in capital punishment or the message of the Watchtower. Nothing has changed for me. Although I really don't have any pity for most who are executed (except those who are innocent), I think capital punishment is wrong, and two wrongs don't make a right.

  The case of Timothy McVeigh demonstrates that the death penalty can in some cases be a preferrable alternative to life in prison. No punishment could ever rectify the horrendous crime McVeigh committed. McVeigh won his battle (he wanted to be executed); instead of spending the rest of his years as the anal prostitute of the jail he got security treatment on death row, and his death was absolutely painless, except for the emotional trauma associated with knowing the exact date, time, and method by which he would be put to death. Death is certainly a favorable alternative to a lifetime of imprisonment.
