  hardly anyone has an honest opinion about anything of importance that wasnt craftily pre-packaged and handed to them by someone else whose job it is to craft public opinion.

  the intention of the media is to present the illusion of impartially informing, all the while pandering to prejudice and ignorance in order to persuade to a particular point of view.

  datelines presentation of the watchtowers child abuse issue was a case study in the black art of media propaganda.. from the very beginning of the presentation dateline was intent on giving the public a negative impression of jehovahs witnesses by portraying us all as oddball crackpots whose religion revolves around the doctrine that we dont celebrate birthdays and that all non-believers are possessed by the devil and that we want them all to die.

  What you characterize as "stumbling blocks" are actually facts that should awaken the mentally enslaved to the true realities of the Jehovah's Witness cult.

  More facts about the Jehovah's Witnesses need to be publicly disclosed, including, but not limited to, their encouragement of child abuse (e.g., beatings for kids who can't stay still at meetings, and no child care provided, "spare the rod spoil the child," beatings taking place on kingdom hall property with the tacit approval of the local congregation, 2 witness rule for child molestation, etc.) and the exploitation of children (e.g., parents encouraged to compel their children to perform uncompensated marketing services on behalf of the cult - "field service," parents encouraged to compel their children to give uncompensated speeches -- "talks" for the benefit of the local congregations, etc.).

  It is laughable that you would characterize the news show "Dateline" as the "black art of propaganda." The Jehovah's Witnesses owe much of their very existence to the propaganda disseminated by the WTS and it's historical plethora of false prophets. You do a great job of presenting another example of the pot calling the kettle black.

  Did you apologize to Ray Franz yet for the ostensibly libelous comments you posted about him on this site?

  Why Are People Here So Disrespectful At Times?

  eu has noticed that a number of persons making up this forum are guilty of showing disrespect to jehovah's witnesses.

  some refer to jws as 'hovahs and others talk about kingdumb hells, all the time professing to follow christ.. some may justify their rude behavior by saying that jws themselves can be rude.

  even if the charge is true, and eu is not really convinced that it is, why cannot ex-jws rise above the fray?

  Maybe not, but we did see "eu" come to this place and represent to all on this site that he is an "intellectual academic." Unfortunately, he has trouble with his spelling and grammar, and tends to fill this site with verbose ramblings that are devoid of any meaningful content. I remember students who attempted to impress others in the manner that Eu has here. Without exception, they ranked at the bottom of the class and received jeers, rather than respect, from their peers.

  i have a question on the issue of child abusers within the organization.. i know that it should be reported to the authorities as it is a crime against human laws, but it is also a sin against jehovah so it must handled theocratically also.. my question is: should a child abuser be disfellowshipped from the christian congregation?

  Disfellowshipping child abusers? That would mean you would have to disfellowship anyone who subjects their children to the misery that is the Watchtower.

  How many out there can remember the multitudes of beatings that took place on kingdom hall property with the tacit approval of the Jehovah's Witnesses? As I recall, most of those beatings were doled out to children who were acting age-appropriate in their inability to sit still for hours of brain numbing programming delivered from the podium by idiots.

  What about the JW parents who force their children to slave away their childhood years, from house to house without compensation, marketing the JW's hateful message of intolerance to anyone weak-minded enough to listen to it? I'm sure the WTS and its advocates will find some alternative words to characterize this slavery, but it is clearly another form of abuse.

  Of course, the emotional trauma experienced by mere adherence to Watchtower rules concerning involvement in school sports and other activities, fellowship with normal people (i.e. "worldly" people), blood, etc., is a form of abuse in and of itself.

  To summarize the verbose and boring ramblings in the thread you referred me to, you claim that Franz is a gossiper. The following is the definition of "lawless," as found at dictionary.com:

  Contrary to the law; unlawful: the lawless slaughter of protected species.
  Not governed by law: the lawless frontier.

  So, You Know considers gossip to be unlawful, notwithstanding its prevalence within his cult. Check your state laws carefully, You Know, and you will find that gossip is not unlawful in any state in the USA. However, you will find that all states have laws that classify libel as a tort (civil wrong). You Know, you owe Ray Franz an apology and a retraction. Your failure to admit your wrongdoing and apologize for and retract the offending statement demonstrates your egotistical personality, as well as the absolute lack of basis for it.

  To date I can honestly boast that my apostate enemies have failed to present any challenge which I have not been able to refute using the word of my God. - - You Know

  I guess I must be one of You Know's apostate "friends," as opposed to enemies, since, to date, he has never been able to refute or defend my statements to him concerning the rampant child abuse and exploitation that is encouraged by the Watchtower cult he purports to be a member of.

  Recently, You Know referred to Ray Franz as "lawless":

  Is this what you call refuting a challenge, You Know?

  You Know doesn't even have the decency to retract a statement that appears libelous on its face. So, the message from You Know is that it's ok to lie about others, as long as the lie is told while you are advocating the Jehovah's Witness cult. A fine Christian message indeed.
