The only time I can see a congregation starting a witch hunt would be if suspicion is aroused. Does the "worldly" person smoke? Will this person come to the Kingdom Hall with the odor of smoke on their clothing? Does the "worldly" person have an active social life, bringing singles into the apartment for "porneia"? Does the "worldly" person use drugs? Finally, is there any possibility that the "worldly" person of the same sex may exhibit homosexual tendencies?

Ok there is no smoking, no drugs and she is not gay.

Not a student but a co-worker. I guess if she used the line it is just temporary that would help. Yes I almost forgot, she has no privledges at all. They were taken away a couple of months ago.

What is the worst thing that can happen if a brother/sister moved in with a worldy person? Both are of the same gender. Can there be reproof, elders meetings, loss of privledges? Yet this person will still continue going to meetings and service. What type of action, if any, is taken against them? Important to note, there is no family relation between the two.

ai had the opportunity today to go over this thread with a jw and they almost passed out , for this is what a number of them in their hall were discussing this pass sunday- the shear number of friends who are suffering from depression-

so i thought for the newer ones here it would be good to take a look at how the happiest folks on earth are not as happy as they claim to be

A younger friend of mine went to see a therapist. One of the very first questions the therapist asked her was, "Are you one of Jehovah's Witnesses?" My friend couldn't believe it. She replied yes, then she asked the therapist why she would her that question so soon, or even at all. The therapist replied, "Most of my patients are young Jehovah's Witnesses and you sound so much like the others I spoke with"

So there's a real example of "Jehovah's happy people".

Circle of the earth

bible believers are so proud of the fact that the bible talks of the "circle of the earth" and try to use this to say that the bible is inspired because it obviously was ahead of it's time in establishing that the earth is not flat.. congratulations.

umm...umm...ok now then why does daniel 4:11 say the tree grew all the way into heaven?

and when satan decided to tempt jesus he took him to a high place and he could see all the kingdoms of the earth...... now unless jesus and satan could see around corners...how do you explain this?

it's kind of hard to love and trust someone who will off thousands of persons merely because they bitched becaused they were bored of bread...and that's just for starters.. .

i tried to rationalize it as jw saying, "well, we are jehovah's possessions, he created us and, by killing us, he is just reclaiming what is his.".

that is not a very firm foundation for true love.

Sally don't take this the wrong way, but, you honestly make no sense at all. You speak in circles. You have a really hard time understanding logic. Plus by your last post, you seem very closed minded. As regards what I said about good deeds. If Jehovah will remember yours, just as you said, then he will surely remember everyone else's. You really don't feel that you are that special, do you? That Jehovah will remember only yours or only 6 million others good deeds, do you? It would be hard to believe that anyone is that full of themselves.

No I don't. But at least I am willing to be more reasonable to conclude that the world is filled with people that have and are doing very wonderful deeds either lesser or greater than you have.
