Are JW's Really Free From Superstition?
by TD ina couple of years ago, my wife's younger brother was moving into his first home.
i've always made a point of being nice to her family, (and they to me as well) so cup of coffee in hand, i drove over there early on saturday to help.
moving is always hectic, even if it is someone else's move.

What Are The Differences Between A "Normal" JW & A "Worldly"( Normal) Perso

yet, they feel, that anyone not a witness, (aka "worldly") is abnormal.
for example, at a jw wedding, it would be inappropriate to "toast" and cling glasses to the happiness of the new bride and groom.

A normal person won't think god will strike them dead if they say "hey that was a lucky catch"
A normal person won't bow their head at a restaraunt for two minutes pretending to say a heartfelt prayer.
A normal person won't make their children sit through two hours of agony and if they move a muscle take them to the back and give them a major whooping.

The mental and emotional damage done by the wt was very severe. I really don't think anyone breaks completley free from the mental and emotional abuse that it has caused to so many people.
So, do we have baggage? We sure do and not only now but as long as we will live. The only difference is that we will improve with time but it will never go completley away.

Hell no!! If there is a God the worst thing he could have ever done was send a book down to us. Look at what this great book has done to humankind, it has seperated and divided people in half. If there was a God it would be much more effective to proove to us that he exists ( and the birds and trees do not proove this ) then tell us about his purposes.
This faith crap is the biggest copout out there. He created us with a brain, please give us more proof than one book and a million interpretations of it. A great wise amazing divine all-knowing perfect person cannot be behind such a thing.

You're the United Nations! Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long way to go. You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of beating each other about the head and torso. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result. But your heart is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.

Fantasy Football League...Interested?

i'm wondering who would be interested in playing in a fantasy football league if i set one up?.
we would have a lottery to see who drafted first....last and of course that would be accomplished online.. there are free versions and some that are better that would cost roughly $10 per person.. no less than 12 - no more than 16 teams would work.. you can respond here or pm me.. we would want football loving people who are serious about losing to my team.

Just because she believes this is true does not make it true. Take away the emotion and the fear, just look at the facts and your mother or any other jw has no case at all. They are left empty handed.
