  What does it really mean to "have love among yourselves"?

  if you ask any active witness most will say they are the only true religion because they have love among themselves.

  but not going to war and killing another jw or going anywhere in the world and getting a free meal is fine but it does not constitute a true love among themselves.. forgotten is all the backstabbing, all the varying statuses within themselves and the never ending criticism that they have within themsleves.

  never mind if a person becomes publicly reprooved, not disfellowship, but reproved they are still basically shunned and looked down upon.

  I wonder how many active jw's believe that there is genuine love among each other. For many of them they "love" only because they have to. Which I guess is not really love at all. I'm sure if they had the chance they would rip each eyes out. I was in a number of congregations over the years and EVERY one that I was in, it was all the same. The negative speech about one another, it was truly remarkable.

  I guess when it comes right down to it, JW's are the biggest hypocites around. They say so much but do very little.

Never mind if a person becomes publicly reprooved, not disfellowship, but reproved they are still basically shunned and looked down upon. One brother told me after I was publicly reprooved, " Most will treat you like you are disfellowshipped". Boy was he right. So what does it really mean to have love among yoursleves and what other ways do jw's disqualify themselves from doing so?

  i would say the best thing is when one has just started studying and coming to meetings for the first time they are treated like gold.

  but things really start to detiroriate quickly from there.

  the worst thing is the control.

  The worst thing is the control. Your life is so closley monitored that it feels like one is in a symbolic jail cell. It is enough to drive a person crazy. I mean the list is very long, but this is just one of the worst.

  Witness sayings

  as i was growing up in the troof.

  there were sayings used over and over again to control my behaviour.

  the biblical on bad associations spoil useful habits and another on just because everyone else does it doesnt mean you have to do it to, would you jump off a cliff just because other people do what were the sayings that bugged you?

  in a way im glad the wts has hinted that mobile phones are expensive, time wasting, immoral devices.

  anything to reduce the number of people shouting into plastic blocks on public transport gets my vote.

  however they go as far as to assume that young people who have one will use it to talk to members of the opposite sex!

  Having to go to 5 meetings a week every week for the rest of your life

  Shunning someone you love

  For me it was about 6 months. Just sitting there at the district conv. very disturbed with what I was hearing, it grew and grew with each meeting I went to before I said I had to get out of there or else I would kill myself.
