Foiled conversion attempt!

i am home on maternity leave right now, and this has given me the opportunity to meet people in our neighborhood that i might never have come in contact with otherwise.

now that you aren't forced to accept beliefs that you might not have wholeheartedly endorsed, there must be many different things that you don't accept.....what comes to mind?

Hey Xena, I love the point you made about sleeping in on Sat and Sun mornings. I remember if I ever did this I knew there would be 3 phone calls later that day wondering where I was. Now, oh the peace and tranquility of sleeping in on these days if I want to without feeling any anxiety of what will happen next. So good to be free!!!!

Honestly if that place was everything or even somewhat as they say it is. Why would any of us ever leave? It just would not make any sense.
In reality the reason most of us here left was for the hypocisy and the extreme dislike most had for each other.

Now That We've Stopped Meetings, What Should We Expect???
by minimus inmy daughter stopped all meetings in the spring.my wife and i went to only a few meetings in the early summer and haven't been to a meeting in over 6 weeks.
my elder friend stops by my work every so often and recently has asked, "am i going to see you at the meeting tonight, min?
" i have said now on 3 occasions, "not tonight......" the other day another elder friend called me out of the blue and asked me how things are going.he said,.he'd like to come by my work and talk a little.

One thing that comes to mind is that not everything or anything is "demonized". Just this little thing has freed me to not cower and hide when I see a preview of a movie on T.V. I can go to garage sales, I can listen to different music. This is just one small example of many things I don't believe anymore. I guess the "troof" does not set you free.

I did the fade and I had elders calling me weekly for a month and a half. I never once answered the phone when they called and I never called them back. As of now I have not heard from them in 6 months. And I was a pioneer and an m.s. The only things I told them initially was that I needed a break from everything to clear my mind. Basically I used the "I am not well mentally approach". It has worked out much better than expected for me.

It has to be the fault of the one who leaves. I mean it is such a spiritual paradise, why would anyone in their right mind want to leave such a tranquil, peaceful, fullfilling place?
