Good points Coded Logic. When I first came on here I was quite overwhelmed with the entire array of strong opinions, options, suggestions, advice etc. I too had to wade through it all, let it sink in and then see what floated to the top and made sense to me.

I guess regardless of the varied views one thing was apparent.. that many people sincerely cared. And that counts for a lot at the end of the day. It does seem Lenna has a good head and I wish her the very best in working her path out despite how she may be feeling at present.

Was not referring particularly to you Disposable but putting myself in her shoes my head would be spinning from all this conflicting advice. It's true, the support, sympathy and kindness are all invaluable but she really has to work this all out for herself, tough times ahead. Not at all easy.

My goodness no wonder this poor girl is utterly confused.. what with those elders, and then many implying there is no God.. others saying there is, others saying you must work in accord with your prayers and some that prayer is pointless.. some quoting the Bible.. others discrediting it..

I'm not sure how such utter conflicting confusion can be helpful except to confuse even further.

in my nearly 60 years in the religion, although i "studied" with a good number, i cannot think of any who could lay the blame at my door for being in the religion today.. one lad possibly might, i studied with him briefly as he was trying to get off drugs, he then moved away, and then married a "sister" a few years later, and is still in, but i doubt he would blame me, i hope not.. of the others i studied with none are still in, the last i heard of one of them, a weirdo kid, now weirdo man, was when he was arrested for "flashing" in a local spot frquented by doggers etc.

i guess i was a useless "tutor".

as it happens, that is one of the things i am proud to be a failure at, getting people to join a cult.. i always tried to not do proper r.v's, and never suggested a "study" to anyone, but some, like weirdo, were shoved my way by elders who didn't want the work themselves.. how many are you guilty of getting in to the cult ?.

None. Those that I studied with soon as I learned TTATT I went to them all and Un-studied with them. Not a single one now has anything to do with the Borg. They all teach TTATT.

Just read 'Jehovah Unmasked'. Here's what i think of it!

when i first joined the forum a short while ago the aforesaid book was recommended to me after i ranted about the disgusting, genocidal machinations of jehovah.

nathaniel merritt, although i don't concur with all he says, is a very brave and bright guy.

his abhorence of the nightmarish evil perpetrated by this god mirrored the thoughts that i've been having for a few years now.

Rather the point was that children sometimes suffer as a result of what their parents do. Here is an analogy: on September 11th, as those 'planes hurtled towards the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, there were probably some babies and children on board. Those children had not done anything wrong that caused them to be there. But if the American Government had been able to respond fast enough and decisively enough, I am fairly sure they would have shot the planes down before they could be flown into the Pentagon and the World Trade Center.

Does this mean that the American Government condones the killing of babies and children? Surely not. The point is that the threat would have been large enough and serious enough for them to take drastic action, and because of this drastic action, innocent children would have died.

I believe that this is what was going on when the Israelites destroyed the Canaanites. One of the reasons we find it difficult to see it this way is that we do not take seriously enough the evil these nations were doing, or the threat they posed to God's good purposes for the whole world

i haven't really been on here in like, a year.

my stbx introduced me to this site and then a whole buch of life happened and i just sort of never had time for forums.

but here i am at 3am, another sleepless night, and i feel like i am simply lost.

My summer camp job experience

this summer i met a russian women i worked at a summer camp for people with developmental disabilities and she is going back to russia in september.

i grew to really like her as a person.

i just feel empty that she is now gone to new york heading beck to moscow we hung out on three seperate occasions and i enjoyed myself and her company .

I thought this was a thread about a serious and passionate love story.. but it's just a whimsical and fickle 5 minute infatuation of foreign chick by a wet behind the ears school kid who still listens to his teachers on where he should take his holidays..
