Sinuitis and a cure?
by jayhawk1 infor the past two months, i have been fighting one cold after another, but what seems to never leave is the burning in my nose and throat.
six days ago my doctor perscribed cephalexin 500mg (antibiotic), but so far i am still miserable.
while looking online, many websites want to sell their various cures, usually for about $35.00 us.

by morty inwell it has been 3.5 days since i had a smoke...i know your probably sick of hearing about it but, i really depend on your support here.. (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((fourm))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))).
there has to be people here that have quit.did you have the shakes just from quiting smoking?

you might want to make sure the level of patch you are on is the right one based on how much you smoked before you quit. I was never able to use the patch cuz I got the shakes too. Zyban works for some people. make sure you clean out all your smoking reminders (Ashtray) and anything that can smell like smoke. maybe buy an air freshener for car/home...try to change your routine a bit to keep your mind off it.
i used to chew on straws and carry a few cut up ones around cuz some are about the width of a smoke and they can keep both your hands and mouth busy...
also lots of water and try to exercise some if you are able.
other people have tried accupuncture, or being hypnotized...
Hope it gets easier for you! Good luck!

Young People with Tarnished Reputations
by Swan ini have been emailing a friend recently about how many young people there must be out there with guilt or shame.
i wrote this paragraph and got to thinking about it.
i thought i would share it with the board.

Yes that is very sad and true. Some were even labelled in such a way when they did nothing wrong prior to being DF'd. (although speaking from experience I more than made up for it after being df'd)

Sex,Sex, and more Sex????
by morty innow that i have your attention,i would like to know if some of you experienced teenage parents could give me some advice.you see i have a teenage boy.he is going to be 15 real soon.the topic sex has come up many times in the past and i usally just pass it off to his dad.
( i think that that is dads territory..lol)i have to say we have a pretty good open communication when it comes to most things.this weekend though,my husband says he is going to actually buy him some condoms and show him how they work.my problem is this.
(a) my son knows that we really think that sex should be saved for the one you love.

Probably a good idea for him to have a talk with you & his dad about it. Being 15 he has probably talked about this with friends. Plus some schools offer a course like health services which often time include this subject matter of sex & condoms etc...so the information is there you may want to be part of the delivery.

The things that went on...
by shamus inthe things that went on behind closed doors in kindumb halls appalls me.
i just can't even put into words the things that i have found out over the years... how horribly elders treated people, how everything was kept secret... .
it disgusts me.

I think lots of stuff went on behind closed doors... Sometimes it can be better that way for those involved if they prefer to keep things private. However other times it was shocking to sit there in a meeting and listen to an announcement of someone having been reproved publicly/df?d. The truly sad part is that sometimes things happened in a hall and no one ever really knew the truth about what went on and then the announcements of reproof, da or df?ing just lead to all sorts of speculation and nasty rumors. Sometimes I wish that back then I knew what I do now as I would have da?d myself in true ?BReal? form instead of allowing them to df me.

Charities
by noidea ini am employed with the federal government and we are a new branch so we are in the midst of setting up donations for charity to be donated through our paychecks.
anyway, i volunteered to be a coordinator for the cfc (combined federal campaign) in which i was encouraging people to give some out of their paycheck to a charity of their choice..i have to admit i had flashbacks of being in field service while doing this..lol
i will say that i asked a few jw's that worked there and they didn't give *knows where their money goes.

We have the same set up at our office. There is a huge list of charities that one can donate to. There is a way for employees to add various charitable organizations if one they prefer to donate to is not on the list. The list does include the Kingdom Halls of JW's. That way if the JW employees donate the company matches there donation and the organization gets double the money.
Edited to add... yep I donate. Either to Cancer, Parkinsons Disease or to the SPCA from work. Also to various childrens hospitals where I donate my time.

Score of 20
You're as cool as cucumber. Even in touchy situations that could spark a theatrical reaction in most people, you seem to stay calm and composed. This likely stems from a rational, logical approach to life. Either that or you are just able to keep a lid on your emotions, even when you're flipping out on the inside. You are generally able to maintain perspective and see the big picture, even when the worse appears to be true. You know that freaking out before you really know what's going on results in the whole "mountains out of molehills" scenario. This is a healthy approach that allows you to cope well with most of life's trials, big and small. As long as you are not blindly optimistic to the point that you ignore trouble, you're coping very well.

If Your Child or Friend Told You They Were Gay, Would You Be Disturbed?
by minimus inas a jehovah's witness, you know that you cannot practice homosexuality.
it's considered a sin.
if your friend or relative revealed that they were gay, you would be obligated to "report" them to the elders.

No children yet.
Several friends that are gay....several friends that are straight. They are all awsome!
