  jehovah long ago confidently stated that he was going to rock the very heavens and the earth into oblivion.

  although not going into detail exactly how he proposes to shake the nations up, it goes without saying that the world stands posed to experience a catastrophe beyond human comprehension.. it has now been six months since the so-called 9-11 disaster.

  and while most people have been quick to get back to business as usual in their little lives, the events of 9-11 have set off a chain reaction of official policy revision that has potentially far-reaching consequences.

  Would you let your kids bf/gf sleep-over?

  at what age would you be happy with your kid's boyfriend and girlfriend 'sleeping over'?.

  would the rules be different for boys vs. girls?.

  personally, i think given a choice between 'it' happening anyway god-knows-where and giving a suitably mature kid some privacy, i go for the privacy option.. what do you think?

  TR! I have a feeling your kids are doing things under your nose you would hate to find out about...it's just comes with the territory. All teenagers do.

  The fact that you ban them from sleeping with the opposite sex is not going to make them do it any less. In fact, it'll probably just keep their minds focused on the problem more than ever!!!

  I find that a reasonable borderline approach works best. Would you rather have your daughter lose her virginity in the back seat of a car in a slum God knows where, or in the safety of your own home?

  the root of the problem often lies in his not having "an accurate knowledge of truth."

  Like hell. I bet if a lot more youths knew the real 'Truth' they would leave even faster!

  More than merely going through the motions of worshiping Jehovah, it is important that young ones cultivate a close personal relationship with him. What will help them do so?

  A lobotomy perhaps?

  By shunning their child and cutting off his lifeline of access to probably the only people he knows? Yeah, right!

  If a baptized youth is disfellowshipped, the congregation members are expected "to quit mixing in company with" him.

  So now we've forgotten about the earlier quotes in the article where we're supposed to keep open the lines of communication?

  This may eventually help him to come to his senses' and return to God's protective fold.

  That, or he'll discover JW.COM. Yay!

  Though the youths readily complied and enjoyed such sessions, their influence on one another eventually led them to cut their ties with the congregation.

  Sweeeet! Mass Disassociation!

  Take positive steps to help your child come back to Jehovah with the congregation.

  Whack his/her AZZ!!!

  When a youth who has left the congregation comes back to the Kingdom Hall or attends an assembly, think of how he may feel.

  How about being utterly BORED?

  Firmly stick to Bible principles

  Do not spare ze rod!

  the compassionate toliet thread brought this frightening memory to mind.... the field service assignments!.

  did you all have the same feeling of dread of being stuck with a particular person.. knowing that you would have to listen to their dribble throughout the day.. or listening to that poor sister's sinus condition where she would make that, for lack of a better way to describe it, hock-a-luegy sound with her nasal passages every 10 minutes.

  then lets not forget the positive side.. how you wished with glee, and finally got to work with the car group that would goof off half of the day and the other day go to not-at-homes that would definitely still be not-at-homes.. *************************************.

  Right before I left the Borg, I started going out in Wednesday-night FS with a group of pretty cool teenagers from another KH...there were some hot chyckz in this group too, so this was like heaven for me...perving over hot chiqZ while logging FS hours, that seemed so cool back then. Man, we goofed off immensely! I never actually enjoyed it much (although the 'association' after the FS was usually pretty cool, those were the days when I was just starting to learn how to socialize properly etc), but it was a trillion times better than all the other FS I ever did.

  i havent mentioned this before because, when it happened i was quite rattled.. there was a knock at the door a little while back, and who should be stood there but john dayment, the fella who used to be my dads assistant when he was po of weston super mare, back in the 60s.. he had with him another chappy, i think that his name was rod something, and they both launched into how good it would be to see me make my way back.

  apparently they were both elders, and this was my once a year visit.

  i was disinclined to be rude because my mum is still in contact with john hey, for all i know he might be my step-father one day!

  Jehovah's Witness church officials in New York deny that the church hides criminal activity. "We have no such policy. Our policy allows for anyone who wishes to report the matter to the authorities to do so," J.R. Brown, national spokesman for the Jehovah's Witness organization, said. "We strictly comply. We are not in any way resistive to the proper authorities being notified."

  This is utter, utter bulltwang. There's no other way to look at it.

  We all know what the WTBTS' policy is in situations like this. They don't want the word getting out.

  I've known for a long time that YouKnow isn't really a dyed-in-the-wool Dub here to defend his 'faith'...but it's still really fun to give him a quick dressing down now and again.

  Let's all just think of him as someone we can sharpen our claws on for when we confront the real bad boys.

  But like I've said earlier on in this thread, I respect him for the enormous intelligence that goes into his posts. He never fails to completely stump me with infinitive arguments that cannot be beaten by my logic, and/or completely avoid the issue.

  As such, he truly lives up the the ideal of the Dub Elder. Straw man!

  Sigh...it's impossible to argue with you, YouKnow, because the moment I ask you something you go back to your trusty old Bible.

  So you believe in all of the Bible, right?

  Every last little bit?

  Then why don't you start applying some of it's vaunted 'principles'? Like there having to be 2 witnesses to an act of child molestation? You and I both know that this is wrong. There is no way you can say that it is the correct thing to ignore child molestation just because of some silly law in the Old Testament.

  The rape issue is another. If a woman is raped, do you think she enjoys it? Which bit of the whole rape do you think she enjoys the most, physically being raped and then being mentally raped by the Elders during her judicial hearing? What if she didn't have a choice during the rape? A knife at her throat or a gun to her head?

  And I want you to answer EVERY question I pose above. No side-stepping, Mister!

  It seems that the ideas of freedom in the Bible and in reality are quite different. YouKnow, how would you feel if the Bible had been written by women? Would you enjoy wearing a dishcloth on your head? I think it's no coincidence that God is 'a man of war' in the Bible - of course he would be man, because the Bible was written by MEN. This is OBVIOUS. Women aren't our slaves, You Know! They are our partners in this world.

  No Jehovah's Witness today can answer these questions without exposing their entire religion as a sham.
