  when i was 27 my brother held a bucks night party for my first marriage and we went to a strip joint.

  de rigeure for the boys bucks night.

  it was all a bit of a none event, so next night he brought around drugs to my house, marijuana.

  i thought i would a friendly ambassador from jwd.

  TeraFera, here is the code that Apostates use to communicate on PLN:

  FDS: Indicates to the listener that they must bring the drinks at the next Apostofest.

  Organization: Tells the listener that the sender wants to flirt with them in JWD chat

  Governing Body: Tells the listener that the sender wants to cover them in body chocolate and whipped cream.

  Bethel: Tells the listener that the sender wants to lick the above substances off VERY slowly.

  Hi Yeru, I missed this thread for a while...hehe...I wasn't "trashing" Him (I know this is a sensitive subject for you...), like I said, I'd like to go back and meet him personally (if he existed, there are several schools of thought on that matter, but I will give it the benefit of the doubt), so that I wouldn't have to try and understand his teachings through a 2000 year-old book! I respect the fact that you base your religion on Him...

  today i was out in service, met sveral nice peopel who like to here about god news from the bibel,i was reding from luk 21, and showing them what will happend, and that jehova can solve our problems.i think here in matrealistik sweden we have a bigg los of spirutal sings, evrything here is about money, and young peopel dont like this so much, they want a new order, some have gone to this proclaim the streets movment, it is a anarkistic movment.. so i must say the messege from bibel is radher the same, a bigg dissaster, and then a new order.. but i dont think as the gov body that only jw are saved,i am more i touch widh rutherfords talk,million who now live will never die.. never forget that the bibel say, we are not judges,it is jesus who have this power,think gb has forgett this thing.. greatings from the north.

  But, remember that the GB controls Witnesses, and they've caused Witnesses to die and be abused through their doctrines!

  So, why don't you tell people at the doors that instead?

  A valid question, eh? Notice that nowhere do I attack HappyMan personally. In fact, I admire him for his stance against the Tower, even though I do not always agree with him. I do realize that not everyone can instantly leave the BORG - oftentime they have to "sneak" out, so as not to rock the proverbial "boat".

  Geesh, I don't attack Witnesses here just because they're Witnesses. If I ever do, please slap me rapidly. I WILL attack their religion with glee, however. The sad thing is, many people confuse this with personal attacks, perhaps because they have BECOME their religion. If you knew me in real life, you'd understand...I have a very easy-going, but also extremely anti-Tower, nature. In fact, I'm a Pacifist. I'm quite insulted that you didn't read my post thoroughly and understand that I was not slagging HappyMan at all, but rather just questioning the motivations of his RELIGION!

  Hehe, this is a great thread!

  Unfortunately my metabolism must be too fast or something...the stuff just does nothing to me. It makes me feel a little light-headed, is all, then I get a headache for DAYS. What a waste of time!

  I prefer more, uh, "natural" methods of having fun, if you get my drift!

  Now, now, don't go causing "divisions" in the Congregation, Prisca! Us Apostates must keep a united front!

  Gee, I sound like a GB member, don't I? LOL...we should set aside our personal differences and just help the Silent Lambs, methinks. They are far more important than any rivalries we might have here or elsewhere amongst the Apostates.

  Just my 2^-2 cents.

  What's the deal with not needing Bethelites?

  as a disclaimer, i am an ex-jw (da'd) for about 15+ years, so i really haven't kept up on what's going on in bethel (come to think of it i wasn't really interested in it when i was a jw!

  recently, however, one of my relatives (current jw) commented that, although my nephew had applied to bethel (oh what a privilege!

  ), he was basically told he wasn't needed at this time because they aren't "mailing out the publications" there like they used to.

  Like a lot of major corporations today, the Society is downsizing. Suprisingly enough, recent research has uncovered the fact that it is actually cheaper for the Society to outsource it's printing business to other companies, so apparently they will soon be letting Bethelites go in droves. There will be carnage when 10,000 "mature" Bethelites who've never known anything else are released onto the scene of the world.

  it's a difficult thing, once having been a member of the elite, the chosen few, hand-picked by the almighty never to die, to wake up, suddenly or otherwise to the realization that all was a lie.

  of course, when we were jws, we had a purpose in life, and that purpose, along with life itself was a forever kind of thing.

  we were to live forever, and our existance was well-defined for us.

  Well, Home, all that it means is that we as humans who leave the BORG can no longer expect God to clean up behind us and do everything for us (provided we have faith, LOL), but that we need to take the bull by the horns and sort out the world and our own lives by OURSELVES. This is a key element of humanity missing from the Tower, and one I found after I left it.

  That, and you get to hang out with Apostates, who just so happen to be the coolest, kindest, most understanding, fun bunch of people on Earth!

  You need to reflect on the things you've gained, not the things you've lost. Here is a little list of things you've gained:

  • True freedom of thought. No more "thought police", "thoughtcrimes", and "doublethink". Maybe you should read 1984 by George Orwell to see what I'm trying to get at. The similiarities between the totalitarian regime in that book and the GB are striking. Hell, the GB even go so far as to rewrite history. Remember, history is written by the winners!
  • Absolute sexual freedom. Nuff said. Go out and enjoy yourself responsibly like a REAL adult. You don't need a book to make rules for you.
  • True freedom of speech. Now, you are are allowed to question what you are being taught. Isn't that great? Didn't you hate literally having "doctrine" shoved down your throat at every meeting?
  • No more Judicial Committees to stress over.
  • You can now perform charitable acts that do not include selling books. Take advantage of this, and help somebody in your neighbourhood or city. You'll feel so much better afterwards.

  oh man....check this out.. my brother, an active jw, whom i am very close too, called me sometime last year to tell me about the un issue.

  i never cared to talk about religion .... most of my family is in and i'm not.

  so i boringly reply,'oh yeah'..not really listening.
