Thank you so much Mimilly! At the end of today, it will be one week! I am starting to feel somewhat "normal" again. The first few days, I felt so ICKY from the withdrawls. I still have urges to smoke, but I would rather breathe. :) I have had chest pains the last couple of years and I am hoping that now that will stop.
Your story of your parents reminded me that my father smoked for a long time. He quit when I was a little girl, over 20 years now. Now my little girl is the same age I was when he quit! I feel so bad for smoking with the kids around, even outside, they would want to sit on my lap and I wouldnt want them near the smoke. But no more!
Tomorrow, my husbands parents are coming to stay with us for a few days, and they smoke. So I am going to have to be strong because I am going to have to smell it. They will probably try not to as much as possible since they know we just quit.
Thanks again for checking in on me! I will keep you "posted" :)
peace to all-Lauren

I have made it through another day! On day 4 now! My thanks to all of you for the support and congratulations to everyone else who has kicked the habit!
Soledad, i dont know if there are properties in them chemically but they keep my mouth busy. Cauliflower takes along time to chew, long enough for the craving to pass.
I am also drinking LOTS of water. I think this is really helping to flush the bad stuff away. Whenever i get a craving, I take a big drink of water. It helps!
peace to all! -Lauren -

My sister in law and her family lived in Bozeman until just a few weeks ago. We spent Christmas there and it was very nice (very cold, too!) We went sledding and also went on a sleigh ride! Nice place, Montana.

Thank you ballistic for bringing this up for me! That is so great you have succeeded! I look forward to being where you are.
There was alot of great advice. I think the biggest thing for me is I CANNOT GIVE IN AND HAVE A CIGARETTE OR EVEN A DRAG. When i think of wanting one, i think about the next and the next and being back to a pack a day. My mother in law quit for 10 years, then started back up again and now still smokes although she has emphysema.I am feeling really spaced out today. I also feel like i am breathing deeper than i was when i was smoking. Its only been 3 days but when i take a breath, it seems longer and deeper. My jaws are so tense and my whole body aches! I know i have to keep going. It is not easy.
Thank you again!

Thank you so much for celebrating with me! I had a major craving in the car earlier. I have eaten so much cauliflower in the last couple days, i might turn into one!
My mother in law has been diagnosed with emphysema and she is still smoking. I think that was really the last straw with us. That and all the other reasons!
congratulations on 4 months, ballistic! That is so cool. No going back now, right? I feel that way and its only been 2 whole days this is the third. When i am thinking of having one , i think how i dont want to go through the last couple days again! I would love to read your quitting thread! I will look for it. I have been eating lots of veggies and hard candies. The first day i put a patch on for awhile and it did help with the cravings but then I took it off because i want the nicotine OUT of my system!
I am happy! I wasnt sure i had the willpower to do it, i have tried before but gave up after a few hours.
Thanks again for the kind words! -

Hi everyone. I have smoked cigarettes since I was 12 years old, a pack a day for 16 years. I have not had a cigarette since Friday night and it is Monday! I did it! I am craving a smoke but i am not going to have one because I DON"T SMOKE ANYMORE! My husband and me quit together and he is so strong, I dont know if i would have been able to do it without him.
I don't like cigarettes anymore!!!!!! Yuck. Even though i am craving one right now.......... okay, craving passed! hooray!
Okay, I have stopped smoking, now i just have to...stay stopped! I know i will, I already feel better and dinner tasted great last night! It was just stuffed bell peppers but the flavor was really intense! I am happy even though i feel like i am on Pluto with withdrawls!
Hooray!

here is one American woman who values freedom more highly than security- There are already way too many laws on the books, and every new one chips away at our freedoms.
Francois, I hope you are wrong but I doubt it.

Will You Miss This History Making Event?
by silentlambs inwill you miss this history making event?
as many of you may know in recent weeks wt has moved to silence victims and advocates by disfellowshipping those who have spoken out on child molestation within the organization.
spokesman for jehovahs witnesses have made allegations that are untruthful, from saying that they had no idea who was appearing on dateline, stating that it has been established policy that child molesters work only in twos in the door to door ministry, to stating the judicial meetings were over other sins against god.

may God bless your efforts, silentlamb. I will light a candle that day and you are in my prayers.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO....
by D8TA inokay....i guess i will throw this out there.. i dont really post whether or not i send e-mails or snail mail to media outlets about the current pedophile issue with the wtbts.
i just refrain from posting on such threads because this is an issue, which often prompts me to turn my colorful language in to a very big rainbow.
believe me, i am restraining myself as of now with this post.. i suggest, along with your e-mails to various forms of media, that you include the wtbts view on lying and theocratic warfare.

excellent suggestion! That really is the bottom line: by their own admission, they are liars. Why should anyone believe anything the WT says? Thier credibility is completely shot.
