Race is like politics. Unending pandering.

America is not a melting pot. More like chunks of beef stew. Each chunk has a flavor: Irish, Mexican, Jewish, African, etc.

Stop deluding yourself that race does not mean anything. If you ever wind up in prison if you're black, I doubt that the Aryan brotherhood will take you in. Or if you're white, no matter how good a guy you are Nation of Islam would not be apt to take your confession.

There is only one color that means anything. That color is cold, hard, cash. The rest is just conversation.

Regarding Lincoln. Civil war had little to due with slavery. It had more to do with economics. The cash crops of cotton and tobacco was harvested in the agrarian South, but processed in the industrial North before England paid for it.

Lincoln used race as a front for Northern public support.

i was reading about a recent scientific discovery in a new book about human sexuality.

it has long been in evidence that married women who are having an affair often fail to get pregnant.

as soon as one of the sexual partners leaves the relationship pregnancy often occurs quickly thereafter.. scientists may have discovered a mechanism for this.

Sex is not an instinct?

Considering that life is a sexually transmitted disease, I respectfully disagree.

Also, most couples (especially married couples) do not tend to fight about food. I would hazard to guess that most married couple spend an inordinate amount of time arguing about: Money and sex. Inlaws or kids a close third.

Still, if I was starving on a desert island and a cheesburger, a beer, and Heidi Klum fell out of an airplane, you're right I'd probably eat the cheeseburger first. Maybe :)

Being a JW is like being one of Pavlov's dogs. Through repetition and association you become conditioned to certain stimuli. Here's a beauty: 1Cor 15:33.

What few people know is that Pavlov's dogs were actually broken from their conditioned response. All it took was his lab being flooded. It seemed that one psychological\physiological event could just a easily replace another.

That is what a majority of people who were JW's and visit this board have had happen. Cognitive dissonance. They had a figurative flood event(s) that made them question or outright break away. They're not using the JW experience as a cop out. They're pissed when they realize just how comprehensive and insidious the JW experiement has been. Then you can either move on or continue being upset.

Actually in a way the conditioning continues. A reverse herd mentality. The conditioning is so thorough that the individual is amazed when they come to a site like this and finds other people feeling and expressing sentiment that they thought was theirs alone.

That is how powerful the Jedi mind trick of the WTBS is. When you leave they get you to think there is something wrong with you. Not them. Never them!

Politicians, Wall St, and Madison Ave have nothing on the WTBS when it comes to manipulation.

If I could add an epilogue to any "holy" book written by men it would be simply:

"Everything in this book may be wrong"

these days, it takes a lot of money to make ends meet.

i live in southern california, and it takes even more.

let alone if one wants to get ahead in life.. in order to do that, either one needs schooling, or must own their own business.

JW's definition of "materialistic" = anyone who has more than they do. Or of a supposed better quality. 2 door car, SUV's, home ownership, college degrees, job other than janitor, landscaper, pool cleaner, or contractor. More than 5 suits that look like you bought them at a place other than Goodwill. Your kids wearing Nikes. Wifey with dress(es) shorter than the ankles that appears to have been purchased sometime after the 1970's.

What's ironic in their quest to store up treasure in heaven is that by actively encouraging an ignoramus mentality (no college, no technical ability) is that with manufacturing jobs going the way of Mexico, China, etc, the only real jobs available to people without training are service/retail. When typically are the busiest days for such establishments? The weekends. Brutal hours, hard work, little pay.

This is exactly what is happening to many JW I know. My aunt (late 50's) got a new boss. For years she was able to avoid weekend work with a boss that liked her. Of course, now that means Sat & Sun work. Furthermore, it would be redundant to say she wont be able to retire at 65 with her meager salary and no thought to retirement planning/health ins. Or probably at 75 either.

Such violence! I suppose that was a "loving" act. He put them out of their misery.

Why did he not add Noah & Co. to the tally and save himself much frustration later on? Of course that he allowed demons to drop down and have sex and offspring and basically intimidate people had no bearing or responsibility on the matter either.

On the other hand. Man definitely can NOT rule himself. But in fact that in a way is a credit to humankind that our societies function at all.

Your View On Capital Punishment

we all know the bible's view on capital punishment.

in fact, in the 1969 edition of aid to bible understanding, the author notes the following: .

"the value of life is considered so sacred by god that the blood of a murdered person is viewed by him as defiling the earth and such defilement can be cleansed only by shedding the blood of the murdered.

It is interesting to note that if a immediate family member was the one who was killed, "hang em high!" but someone else's family member, well, "cant we all get along?"

What's even more amazing is you'd probably have even greater uproar over caning someone than killing them.

I personally support the death penalty. For murderers, child molesters, and drunk drivers. How can these people ever make recompense? Being someone's anal pin cushion in prison? If so, may they use a corn cob on them.

But where to draw the line?

Those Enron slugs did not know they were effectively ruining lives?

100k die every year due to doctor error. Negligence or willful blindness?

OJ?

And regarding sin tax to pay for all these things. Better hope your neighbors keep sinning. Otherwise they'll be coming for your sins next.

I dont recall him citing very many Biblical references. Or Watchtower/Awake passages for that matter. I dont care if he is marking days here or not, but at the very least he should get a cut of the proceeds for Larouche website hits. He is an advocate for them far more than WTBS.

Even Yardif got me to look up Daniel 11:35

In another 10 years the WTBS will recommend going online to "witness" to prop up declining field service hrs once they see all YK's hours.

More advice needed yet again for the 2nd time

hehe.. i posted a while back about my former boss trying to lure me to work for him and offering me $32,000 a year.

my current salary is $30,000.

he is now offering me $36,000, a $1,500 sign-on bonus in cash, full health and free parking at the inner habror in baltimore.

Question.

Do you at present have comprehensive health ins? If not, you have to look hard at this. Jobs that offer health ins for you and your family are becoming more and more rare. There is no place left for companies to cut expenditures.

My dad recently retired and the ins benefits were about 30% above and beyond his salary. Like getting a 30% raise. His whole family. Eye, teeth, medical, the works. He priced just basic med ins for he and my mom. With their age; $265. EACH. Not incl dentist, eye, etc. I told him forget that and made him and my mom employees in my company and got them in for 1/4 that.

Also, do either one of these companies provide pension? Matching 401k? Guess what else is going to belly up? Social security and medicare. Prepare yourself now. If it wasnt for my $$$ shrewd JW in name only grandma, my hard core JW grandfather would be eating dog food and living under a bridge. That is not an overstatement.

Lots to consider. See if Boss #1 will match Boss #2. Dont mention any names. And when Boss #1 asks why you might want to leave, tell him, more money. Everybody understands that.

Actually, YK few people are aware of the reality of the magnitude of derivative exposure. Quite fascinating. I believe its greater than 10:1 now

Basically the bookies have layed off their risk to such an extent that when New Jersey Nets finally (in some decade) beat the Lakers and the rubes come to collect, they wont be able to. The bookies for their part have come to rely on the vigorish,leverage and interest they've concocted and are intoxicated with the shell game.

The bookies will simply "create" some other currency. Just like when Rome bellied up. Or Greece. Or Spain. Or the U.K. There are more than twice as many US dollars in circulation OUTSIDE the U.S than in it. That is not a healthy situation. Especially when those countries come a calling. The is just starting to roll over and Im very curious to see the actions of the world banks. When 25% of banks credit card divisions profits come from late fee charges and they keep lending more, well...

BUT...

Who considers the denarius in their cross-currency transactions?

Why does no one have near the amount of 1 drachma invested and compounded since the time of the Christ? Because he'd own the world. And that would interfere with the bookies game.

Just a guess on my part but when and if the $ implodes, the "bookies" in the govts will institute a Euro rollout type process to maintain stability. Of course you'll have peso like inflation but whats one fiat currency among others? The Swiss franc and gold will be bid up, and the bookies will rotate just like they always do to their next scam. Gobbling up "real" assets at depression like prices.

The question remains: Was Job a jew? If not, what organization did he belong to? And if he was not a jew and was no card carrying member of the Israelites, how the hell did he have God's favor?

Or for that matter, Paul aka Saul of Tarsus? Or Cornelius? And why Abel and not Cain? Or Issac and not Esau?

Seems to be lots of conditions with no consistent application of the necessities of maintaining those conditions.

Ive related this numerous times. I never realized the magnitude of JW's only survivor mentality until I witnessed at a hospice of sorts for the elderly. Some of those great people had suffered strokes, or were just as disabled by depression of age/health problems. Some didn't even comprehend if it was daytime or night, and when as this thread says "it goes down to the wire" they DIE?

Why? Because they're not part of the JW fold? Because they cant pull out a NO BLOOD card from their wallet/purse? That is crazy.

And you Robert? Could you really kill a kid because his PARENTS were not on the Watchtower subscription list?

If you see your kid, or your neighbors kid getting beat up by an older, bigger, more powerful kid, and you do nothing but say: "Well, I told him not to go outside. Im going to let him get beat up as a sort of object lesson. And if by chance he gets hurt, (or dies) hey, no problem, I can always have another kid."

You would say that as a father, your lack of action is NOT in any way indicative of personal responsibility?

Jehovah is waiting for HIS specified time, patient, because he does not desire any to be destroyed? OK Yet, some will always be destroyed. If the test questions are obivous then end the test. But dont play with people's lives like a puppet master.

Today I just took my 1915 born JW grandfather to the doctor(His JW son and daughter are "too busy" ). I see lots of old people in the waiting room looking not too well and closer to oblivion than not and wonder (slightly) if Nietzsche was right: That the kindest act a man can do is to gather his family and friends and end his life in his prime, before they see the decline all experience before death. The best part is that as my grandfather sits on the doctors table, he's saying of his health problems, "All this due to Adam. Adam and Eve" Woe is me! Then he starts telling me to go back to the KH, "this system this and, this system that" etc. His whole life has been a bill of goods that he has to pay for with his death.

Waiting on the WTBS, fosters, inculcates, BREEDS, a lack of life responsibility and that is a perfect way to be manipulated by fear. You never have to take action. You simply drift. You then look to other people's suffering (suicide bombers, Enron, terrorists, El Nino) as signs of your delieverance. You actually view these as glad tidings. Say what? As long as your pain is ended, who gives a rat's @ss who else dies? After all your God has blessed the event? Where the hell is your humanity?

That is why I say: How about a real test? Take away Satan and his "demons" influence. Restore man to a sinless state, bring the earth back inline FIRST. Show mercy by sparing life, not taking it. See what happens to that hard hearted CEO when he doesnt have to work 100 hrs week to keep up with the Jones' Or, here is a wild thought, when a man works for a dollars' wage and gets to keep the full dollar instead of 60 cents to the tax man and 40 cents for him. It is these sorts of external events as well as of course a mans heart condition that twist him into what he is. Not the least of these are Gods rules which he cannot keep, leading to all sort of lovely experiences: DF, child molestation, hypocrisy, shunning, blood stance, no part of the world.

Doesn't Seven of 6 post remind you of the LA riots? That is in part how JW's are. Self martyrs with a overinflated sense of entitlement because of their "suffering" much of which is self appointed by their actions and beliefs and some of which is systemic.
