  Are there any young folks who are sincere JWs?

  i'm closer to middle-age so that is why the question is posed; so those that are younger or really know some younger jws very well can give an older codger some insight.. i hear a lot of grumbling among those of my generation that the new kids just don't seem to get it.

  ("it" being the "truth.

  I hear a lot of grumbling among those of my generation that the new kids just don't seem to get it. ("It" being the "Truth.") Is this really the case for the vast majority? If not, what kind of percentage do you feel really are sincere? I realize it is impossible for any of us to truly judge another's heart, but your best estimate and related thoughts on this would be appreciated.

  How Extreme Will Witnesses Become?

  i think this is a question worth considering - just how extreme will witnesses become?.

  first, the hierarchy: there are numerous accounts stretching back for years of gb members skipping meetings,.

  ignoring field service and treating "vital" doctrine in a cavalier fashion.

  All this at best only proves is that there is a lunatic fringe within a fairly marginal group. Is there any evidence that any of the GB "heavies," DO's and/or CO's share any of the extreme views discussed in this thread?

  It is interesting to speculate about what would have happened to the WTBTS if Pastor Russell had been on board the RMS Titanic. Or even better yet, the choice of apostates everywhere, J.F. Rutherford.

  willyloman brought out some good points. It comes down to having enough "critical mass" to effect the split or force reform by sheer numbers of folks rejecting the WTS. That can only happen if somebody starts the ball rolling. So far, there has been little to no indication that this will happen, despite all the great rumors since the old days of H2O and even before that in the early 90's. exjwelder makes a good suggestion, but it would take more than just one or even two CO's to overcome the enormous spiritual inertia in this organization.

  I am not totally skeptical that this could work, in fact it would be an answer to many fervent prayers. Just the fact that this can be talked about is some relief. But action would be better yet.

  The problem is getting a sizeable enough amount of JWs to split off within a very narrow timeframe. Otherwise, its open season and the WTS can easily pick us off one by one for apostasy.

  Which way will the Society go because of the Internet?

  i've only learned the truth about this society over the last 5 months or so, so i'm not sure what the difference is to say - 2 years ago.

  do you think the society will now get even more cultish in it's methods of teaching and more heavy handed if they feel things are slipping?

  i don't feel i'm being over the top here because i've experienced very heavy handed talks at the assemblies and kingdom hall in the past that are just plain scare tactics but this just makes people ask more questions ??

  every individual who is a member of the gb, or a corporation officer or a member of the senior writing staff and who knows what is right yet does not do it is sinning before god.
