  As a loyal JW, what made you to start doubting the Watchtower ???

  i'm sure all of us were loyal at one time to the watchtower, believing in all of it.

  (some of us probaly hated it from day one as well but, ).

  what were some of the first things that happened or were said, that made you to start doubting it and beginning the loss of your loyalty to the organization ??????.

  After reading a science text on radiometric dating, I changed my mind about its accuracy. The WTS always had said that radiometric dating was quite flawed (unless it happened to agree with them, like with the shroud of Christ thing).

  I knew science has found humans that were older than 6000 years. The only way I could correlate this with my JW understandings was to either say radiometric dating was flawed or the JW understanding of the Bible was flawed. I could no longer do the former so I started doubting that JWs had the complete truth.

  I next analyzed the 1985 Evolution book and was floored by the blatant misquotes.

  The wall of faith crumbled.

  As it stands now I don't even believe in God let alone the Bible.

  if it is proven as fact,then is the genesis account of creation false?.

  Rocketman: I only wish I had the skills of Seth McFarlane (the creator of Family Guy who is about my age). I watch the reruns all the time on Cartoon Network and purchased the DVD set. I'm pathetic, yes, but if you knew I also watched Knight Rider reruns I'd be even more embarrassed.

  well, i went to my first sunday meeting after realizing the real "truth" about the wts today.. it is interesting sitting there with a liberated mind-set now.. at one point my wife turned to me and asked during the public talk, "whats so funny?".

  ", i asked her.. "because youre smiling.".

  smiling at the kh, a sure sign that your not a jw i guess.. ~.

  Because of the evidences discovered about prehistoric humanoids.

  The Genesis account? Which one? There are two and they differ. But a literal interpretation is known to be false even to the JWs (the earth is not 6000 years old). If you were to believe that homo sapiens have existed for more than 6000 years, then you would have to conclude that the JWs understanding of Genesis is also false.

  In order to believe it must one believe in evolution?

  You can believe in creation and still believe humans lived millions of years ago. But I think you'll have to acknowledge evolution to believe man came from another humanoid instead of being specially created by God. Some believe in evolution and God.

  The Discovery Channel is recreating the world of our prehistoric ancestors tonight at 8pm est Run..Hide..Fight..Survive..Walking With Cavemen.

  I'm probably going to watch it, but I won't be too surprised if it's more for entertainment value than scientific understanding.

  What is the impact of all of this in your life?

  Personally? None. I already acknowledge evolution.

  That IP address belongs to Symantec. Do you have antivirus software on your computer from Symantec? It is probably that software downloading updates from Symantec.

  In any case, the best way to protect yourself from viruses is to use antivirus software, keep it up to date, and keep your operating system and applications patched.

  so what do you expect once you die?.

  and if you believe that there is nothing after this life, are you working overtime in this life to get the most out of it because there is nothing after...
