Anyone remember Kyper? *Tic Tac Toe-JW?
by leddfootdja ini know this is quite obscure , but does anyone remember a rap/dance artist from the early 90's named kyper?
their first big hit was "tic tac toe"-it had the guitar riff from "owner of a lonely heart" by yes.. their second(?
) album was titled "countdown to the year 2000".

I was very well known in the circuit and liked by alot of the dubs. When I did the quick fade, not at one time did I ever receive a visit or phone call by the local elders. I even lived three doors down from a elder in my cong. and he never once visited me. What loving shepherds!!! Aren't they supposed to care for the "flock"??

What did you learn as a JW?
by JH inwith 5 meetings a week plus field service, and additional reading of the bible and watchtower literature, what did you learn after all these years in the jw organization?
did we need all those meetings and time and effort just to know some simple details?
in all these years i spent there, this is just about all i can say i learned there: .

What will the future generations of JW's be like ? will there be any ?
by run dont walk init has been eluded to in a couple of other topics,.
let's face it the young generation of jw's are getting smaller and smaller, and very few "new ones" coming into the fold.. what will the watchtower's tactics be, to keep this farce going another 100 years let alone 10 years ???.
change 1914 to 1993 ????

The young jdubs I grew up with that are still "active" really only go because of social reasons. Either they are afraid to leave because of shunning or they are scared of starting out socially again. And I would venture to say that the generation of dubs that were after me, 20 - 25 year old ones, about 80% of these are already out of the borg. Like everyone has been saying the internet, college, and just having more knowedge is really going to cut the numbers in the developed nations...

My JW Husband Got a "Privilege" Back - UGH!
by worldlygirl inmy jw husband came home from his meeting yesterday a little later than usual, and when i asked him where he had been, he said he had to meet with the elders after the meeting.
well, it seems that even though he is reinstated, he has to ask for each of his"privileges" back one at a time.
nothing like prolonging the agony!!

That actually is the best priviledge to get taken away from you. I hated commenting at the meetings. Commenting is just a way to let the know-it-all dubbers spout off on how well they can rephrase the paragraph...

How do you leave the JW's ??? Let's help those trying to !!!!!!!
by run dont walk inwhat is the best way to leave the jw religion ?????.
give your experience or maybe some ideas you came up with after you left, on the best ways of getting out.. how to cope with family pressure ???
(by far the hardest issue when leaving).

The best way to leave the borg is to fade. I started fading in my early 20's and was completely out by 26. My family has actually given me very little grief but then again we don't talk that much. I think they got the message when I brought my girlfriend (now wife) over to their house. My dad started to preach to her and I told him never to talk to her about religion. Then I guess they didn't like it when I was married in a Catholic church. Anyways the brainwashing will take a little time to get out of your head, but when it does you will wonder how in the world you ever believed in all the crap...

Did Any Of You Ever Believe In The Explanations Of JW Prophecy?
by minimus inas a born and raised jw, i was taught that not only did we have the truth but we also had the keys to understanding of bible prophecy.
i was able to explain the gentile times timetable, the reason for 1914,etc.
but there came a time when i really came to appreciate that i had no real foundation for these "truths".

I know I couldn't even memorize most of the stuff. And anything that had to do with dates would really throw me for a loop. Being raised a jw, I just never really gave any prophecy explanations any thought. Until I faded, the KH was just a big social club. I give more thought now to the teachings than I did as a jw. And as a result I realize that they make prophecy as confusing as possible so the R & F jdub won't question it...
