Then perhaps you can explain something to me. My wife, from 4 years of age up to her teens, was sexually abused by 3 of her older brothers. Even though it was brought to the attention of the elders it was never dealt with, even though she had a written admission from one of them.
Of these 3 abusers, the two oldest eventually became elders. The society has also, on many occasions, stated that elders are appointed by Holy Spirit. So, my question is:
1. Is Holy Spirit wicked?
2. Is Holy Spirit too stupid to identify a child molester?
3. Is the Society lying when it says that elders are appointed by Holy Spirit?

i have been so sadend by finding this site and wanted you all to know that the organization is indeed a loving one with only your best interests at heart...but i'm sure, if you look deep within your hearts you already know this to be true...dont you?.
if you search your inamost thoughts and feelings and put away your debeauched/immoral life style ( because if you are truly honest with yourselves, guilt is the reason you needed to distance yourselves from righteousness) and come back to the truth you will see that only kind, loving and overwhelming compassion has always been at the forefront of the wtbts and that although you may feel contentment in a (deluded sort of way) you would have a real happiness within the true christian organization...as your former bible trained concience must know... all others that profess to be 'christian' are satanicly influenced even though they may appear to do good/kind things....how else would the last days of satans system be?.
so i urge all the 'lost sheep' to 'find the love you had at first' and return to the loving compasionate embrace of the organization....you know this makes sense!!!!
I can just visulise your faces busting a blood vessel to answer this post with all the reasons the org is compationate...

I think the majority would be happy if the org crumbled. For many it's little more than a social club.
If the org crumbled, I'm sure the people who would be the most unhappy would be elders and ministerial servants. After all, where else can uneducated morons gain power over people?

) they inevitably leave literature for whatever reason.
The tracts and literature that is distributed to the general public talks more about Jesus than the "solid food?" that is geared more to the fully indoctrinated JW.

i was reading the 1975 thread, and considered posting on it, but since i wasn't born until the carter administration, i don't think i really can comment on it.
i can sympathize, however.. you see, i was raised in the truth.
rarely missed a meeting.
I was in disbelief that the were so uninterested about such a change.
I remember that watchtower study? and I remember looking around to see how others were taking the change. It seemed like no one even noticed it. Or maybe they didn't care. It's amazing how over 6 million people will unquestioningly change their beliefs simply because of a single sentence printed on cheap paper.

I'm trying to settle my thoughts.I've been reviewing a few incredibly sordid pieces of history (recent and not so recent):
1/3 of humanity (10s of millions) dying agonizing deaths by bubonic plague; blood coming out of your eyes--rather like some SciFi monster movie;
10s of millions dying suffocating deaths due to the 1920s influenza;
20,000,000 Russians brutalized by Germans, and millions more dying in 'death marches' and concentration camps.
Millions of Germans being equally dehumanized by gang rape, disembowelment, and other horrendous attrocities upon human beings.
The atomic bomb.
Cancer.
The list goes on and on.
And even such so-called "silent sufferings" as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, etc, etc, etc, and ad infinitem.
When, just when, will the supposed God of this Universe find His Voice?
You know what's really screwed up? The fact that once, when I was a JW, I believed that Jehovah was allowing these things to take place so that he could "vindicate" his "name" and "sovereignty", to prove the "rightfulness" of his rule. How warped is that? I don't have to eat shit to know it probably tastes bad. Walter
ok i'm ready to take a vacation and i'm suffering from information overload.. last year i went to iberostar in cozumel june 10 thru 17 - the absolute worst vacation of my life!
it rained 29 inches in 6 hours and 50 inches the whole week.
the power was out and a state of emergency was declared and everything was flooded and wet.. so this year i'm looking at the mayan riviera or perhap turks & caicos or st. lucia- any suggestions (be detailed).
The hell with vacations! Save your money! Stay home, post here, drink beer and order pizza. Don't shave. Find a beach pic to use as your desktop wallpaper.
