  i got married while i was a jw and have been married for 16 years.

  the last 10 years have been totally loveless, and we have merely existed under the same roof, nothing more.

  now that i've disassociated myself we have nothing in common at all.

  What does your online handle mean?

  a few of us use our real names as our handles, but most of us use something else, such as a nickname or a variation of our real name.

  iiz2cool - it was not my nickname (i really don't think i'm all that cool), but that of an old friend named mike prezelj.

  i won't go into how he got the name, but it happened when we were all very high, and you had to be there to understand.

  Toronto XJW Meetup

  it's time for our monthly xjw meetup.

  we have 4 conformations for the toronto meetup this saturday at 5:00 pm.

  WTS Addresses Child Abuse - er, kind of...

  my wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.

  she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.

  it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.

  Euthanasia

  first of all, i don't really have an opinion on euthanasia one way or the other.

  but since my mother has a terminal illness, i've been thinking more about it.

  not for her, but for myself when the time comes.

  DA Update

  as some of you know, i sent a letter to the elders of my last congregation disassociating myself from jehovah's witnesses.

  i was originally going to wait, as my mother, who's 81, is very ill with cancer.

  she's not expected to live very long.

  Preaching Work Complete!!! or is it?

  in 1989, we as jw's distributed and studdied many articles in the watchtower.

  i remember one study article in particular that indicated that the preaching work would end by the end of the 20th century.

  when the year 2000 came around, i searched bound volumes and the watchtower cd, but couldn't find the statement.

  imagine a marriage that has lasted 16 years.

  there are no children.

  one spouse was a jw for 20 years, the other for 34. the former, male, has discovered that the jw religion is not the truth, and decides to leave.
