Wife and i had a good day/night last night...had some jack and cokes, watched "the worlds end" (i love simon pegg and nick frost), then mortal instruments, played with the kids and had a good chat about what we were like when we furst dated. Good to open up.

What do you miss about your pre-JW years?
by ohnightdivine ini'll start with my experiences during childhood up to high school years... i was raised in a typical catholic family (not very adherent, just keeping up with traditions but it was all that we knew).. just to let you know, i am alone in the "truth".. 1) short prayers with my mom before going to sleep.
it was short and i think that as a child, god was more real to me than when i became a jw.

why don't they have a group of unbiased men, a prosecutor to present the case against you and an advocate that would represent the accused?

by Simon ini had an idea for coming up with a standard(ish) set of interview questions which members of the ex-jw community could use to provide insights into their lives as a kind of series (yeah, i was thinking of "interview with a vampire", lol).. anyway, this is the result to show the sort of thing i'm thinking of (applied to myself) and i'd like feedback on the format and the questions as well as who you'd also like to see "interviewed".. feel free to provide your own life story as a separate topic or ask any additional questions that i've missed.
it's not meant to be rigid so questions / themes can be adapted as needed and split / joined as appropriate.

Jgnat thanks for the links! And i am simikar..i have 8 plans really lol with each scenario playing in to how wife will react and how my life (and hers) woukd be should i take each course. And of course im working on how the elders will or coukd respond...i know the elders in my hall pretty well, on more so....and he is super strict. He somehow convinced wife and i to not go to her inactive sisters wedding and convinced us she should be treated as DF since she would be DF if she fessed up and went to the KH....buuuut my wife and i didnt feel right and went to the wedding...my wife got drunk and climbed a roof while i looked on and laughed lol maybe he was right? Haha

by snare&racket injw literature is racist as hell.
jesus looks like an american folk singer, the governing body look like a corrupt version of an enron luncheon.. the jw's literally print different magazines for africa with african pictures, black people instead of white, to make it 'more appealing' to them.... just to be clear that means they think the opposite is true too!.
....and then there is the lack of black angels..... .

The elders came by and my DA letter
by Crazyguy inthe lead elder co of my hall said he was going to push for a jc meeting.
i could tell all along all hes interested in is protecting his god the org.. so i'm 90% sure now of going on the offesive and first having a family meeting telling them i'm offically quitting and how its going to play out and how i'll will be shunned even though i have commited no sin.
i also may explain a little of why and how i came to this decision with out bashing the org to much out of respect for my wife.

Pronger: thanks for the tip. I dont think u meant to portray me in a self righteous way...im just a husband who loves his wife and kids and wants the. Not to waste their life or have other himans tell thin this is wrong and thats wrong, especially without solid scriptural or anectdotal evidence.

And to all: my goal isnt to firce my wife to do anything...however it is to wake her up and teach her to o serve things from many sides. Life is not one dimensional. Nor should her view of it be. Its not right to condemn others in YOUR heart because YOU were told that they are not "qualified" to be shown mercy. To applaud yoursekf as the WT do EVERY meeting and condemn christendom and all those who dont follow the ORG is the epitomy of self-righteousness. Period. It is cruel to dehumanize one for not believing what you belieVe or daring to doubt. That is why i want my wife out. So she can knowingly and consentually make her own choices. In healthcare you have to get INFORMED consent before going firward with any treatment. this ethical practuce should be affirded to all mankind.
