How come you don't believe in quite adequately founded evolutionary theories, and yet persist in unfounded speculation so as to keep your faith in god?

You use some of the same logic I did, and I am making the assumption you are at the same stage of realisation that I was when I used your logic to retain belief in god...
As to the correctness of your post, natural selection and survival of the fitest are just ONE of a variety of evolutionary mechanisms. The fact you suggest that more factors need considering is a big giveaway. There are loads of factors that have been theorised about, and I am surprised you don't know some of them, given you've been trying to educate yourself about non-god origins.
I think it is unwise to critisize something you've obviously not even investigated it adequately! If I were to make comments here about the Bible from a position of ignorance, I would be lambasted for it by those who know more than me. Consider yourself lambasted in a friendly, fluffy way!
Population expansion is limited by resources; we clever monkies are capable of great utilisation of resources, and have not reached the point where population is limited (globally) by resources running out. Other species can't cope with finding new resources and are far more limited by shrtages.
That's why we are at the top of the pyramid; we're very good at surviving, and that's because of our big brains.

a few days ago the license for glastonbury 2002 was granted.. for those that don't know, glastonbury is a music and art fesitval in the heart of the english countryside.
about 100,000 people, music from big names like rem and radiohead, all the way down to small folk bands (there are dozens of stages), including a dedicated world/jazz music stage, hundreds of stalls selling all sorts of food and trinkets, a circus, a comedy tent, a cinema tent, a whole section dedicated to alternative/green technologies (solar-powered internet cafe?
) and new age what-have-you... you camp in tents whilst you're there, and the only real downside is the toilets, unless it rains.... think of a well organised woodstock that gives huge amounts to charities.
Home&Dry: Missed PSB as reviewing another band for the Glasto Review, can't remember who, but I have to confess, I would have hardly been disappointed as thet are, well, just the PSB's.
B&B? Well, my festival day starts at about 11am and finishes god knows when. I don;t know if B&B's would welcome my hours. Add the hassle of getting in and out of the site, cars/walking etc, and you'll spend half your time going to and fro.
Get a tent. Get an airbed. Get a sleeping bag. Good boots, water proofs, warm clothes, shorts and a sunscreen, and lots of toilet paper. It's easy.
Oh, and rizzlas and tobacco in a waterproof packet...

Actually, the weather is normally okay. '94 and '95 were warm and clear. '96 didn't happen. '97 and '98 were terrible, and '98 I actually left on Sunday afternoon... '97 it rained less and the mud was thicker, '98 it rained more and the mud was wetter; that and the fact I went with a different girlfriend were the main differences...
In '99 and '00 it was pretty good weather too. I can only take the presence of another girlfriend both years as the 'cause (yup, you could say Abaddon thinks the sun shines out of her arse), and although there was no festival last year, I can't wait for June!!

my father did indeed marry me..., to my now ex-wife.
dear old dad conducted the wedding ceremony in waterlooville kh way back in 68. it was so crazy.
I got married at 22 (hysterical laughter at the very dumbness of marrying so young).
I got interested in the only eligible sister who wasn't a good little Pioneer, and who had been DF'd for being date-raped, and then re-instated after the baby was born. She was also older than me, by about 9 years.
It was my first kiss, first girlfriend, and first major confrontation with my parents. They thought she wasn't suitable, and we got hassled by the BOE, to such an extent that, to make people fuck off and leave us alone we got engaged after seeing each other for six weeks, and got married six months after we started seeing each other.
To cut a long story short, we too suffered from just being too different to get along. We foolishly though that having a kid together would make us a family, but it just underlined our differences, and we had another due to a split condom before we seperated and I left the Borg.
I'm glad to say that my x is quite 'weak' as a JW, and my daughetrs, although at the moment being raised as Dubs, seem to either be uninvolved or (especially with the youngest) even dismissive of the beliefs.
