39How many of you went to the elders when you / someone did something wrong ?
by run dont walk ini've read a lot of threads of late, where people stated when they did something wrong they would go the elders the next day and confess.. i find this truly bizzare !!!.
okay, maybe i didn't have a conscience as a jw, i did alot of things wrong, but, that would be the f--kin' day i would go to the elders and confess anything.
i would never tell those old goots anything, because then they would have something to hang over you for a long time.

She also stated that she is not to worried about an elderly family member who is 90 who got DF'd as her family believes he could have dimentia and is not responsible for his actions so how could Jehovah hold that against her..... Hmm.. I did not know this was the new view of the society?!???
If he's got dementia and not responsible for his actions why on earth did the elders put him in a jc, never mind df'ng him!!!
A few years ago a new starter at work came up and asked if I was a jw. When I said I was he said "It'll be nice working with you brother...". I was gutted, because everyone I worked with knew all the stuff I'd done, and how I really felt about things. He couldn't hack the job and left after a few months.

Did the talk backfire or did it do what the PO wanted? If they felt strong enough about this to stop going in service then I guess they did not spend a lot of time in service to start with because their hearts would not have been in it. So 2 less publishers with not a great decrease in total ministry hours would increase the average hours per publisher. The PO will be giving himself a pat on the back for a job well done....

Is the wt-cd not publicly available because of how easy it is to edit electronic documents? Somebody could change the wording in an article to totally change its meaning (Like inserting an 'a' into John 1:1) without others being able to tell it had been done as they would be able to do on a hard copy.

when the female of the species is in condition to breed, she makes the matter known. If there is no male in the herd, she will go elsewhere looking for one and she is unsettled until she finds one and then is bred by him.
So when parents are keeping their children away from the opposite sex they are actually incouraging them to look elsewhere?
There are cases where a girl became pregnant as a result of one sex interview with a boy. What a price for a girl, a virgin, to pay for a few minutes of satisfied sex emotions!
No wonder the wbts has such a downer on sex if they can only last a few minutes!!!

Then she proceeded to say that Hitler had conspired with James Earl Ray to kill Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and she knew that because their car was bugged and she was listening in with an FBI agent in another car. We left shortly thereafter.

When I was married I was distantly related through marraige to an elder in a cong about 30 miles away.
A year or two after the divorce I made quite a few friends in the hall the elder was in and he wasn't happy about it. He made official calls on the parents of all my friends who still lived at home(Most of them at the time) and told their parents all the stories about what had happened during the split. Some of what he told was true, but a lot was false. He only knew what he did because my exmother-in-law had confided in him as an elder.
I went to see him about it, he admited in front of another brother that he had approached the families but could see no harm in it.
Before I'd got home I got a phone call from my book study conductor asking me to meet him to discuss a complaint about my conduct that the said elder had just phoned him about. When I met with the local elders they had a go at me about what the other elder had said, but after I told them the full story they backed me up and went to see the other elder about it.
