How do I explain to a potential mate that for 14 years, I was
captured by an institution called the Watchtower Bible
and Tract Society?
I thought about this a lot not long after I left, and got some reaaly good answers when I posted about it.

properly wed. .

there have been individuals who hire so called 'cult deprogramers' to get a loved one out of a cult.
they sometimes kidnap them and try to get them out of whatever cult they might be in.
does this ever work, and would it have worked on you as a jw?.
Adults have the right to make their own decisions, even if we disagree with those decisions.
Damn right they do. They also have the right to make their own decisions without others deciding for them. If this is happening wihtout their knowledge, like in a cult situation, I think they need to be told about it so they are then able to make their won deecisions with ALL the facts to hand.
You can only give a hand to those who want to leave.
I think thats what I liked so much about Steve Hassans second book, instead of only being able to help people already on their way out he explains how to do 'mini interactions' to get them thinking and kick start them on the process.
the past couple of days, my eyes seem a bit watery and feel strained, my nose and everything else is blocked up with snotty stuff and i got a sore throat .
also can i add that food tastes rubbish.
sympathy and ideas here lol..
Airborne...right if i see it at all i will have a look at it, just see how i feel tomorrow
Claire says you can get a nasal spray called 'first defence' from Boots which is meant to stop the germs in their tracks. First defence also do a hand foam which helps prevent you spreading the germs (assuming you use a tissue to sneeze in!!!!!) and also can stop other people picking up the germs if they use it as well.
Sympathy? After those rude pics you posted of me?

Sounds like man-flu to me. The best thing is to strip naked, then get into a sleeping bag with a naked woman or two to raise your bodies core temperature. Its not a cure as such, but does make you feel a lot better!
I get a lot of head colds and sinusitis (I'm having an op in january to rebuild my sinus's) so I know how you feel. Get well soon mate!

"and the lord their god shall save them in that day as the flock of his people: for they shall be as the stones of a crown, lifted up as an ensign upon his land.
for how great is his goodness and how great is his beauty!
corn shall make the young men cheerful, and new wine the maids.
Thats one of the reasons why although the bible does have some good points, I think its wrong to take it literally.
Someone posted a good response to this a while back that really made me think. It was the concept that an all good, all powerful god was impossible. If god was all powerful then he/she would be able to fix the problems in the earth but chooses not to and therefore cannot be all good. If god was all good then he/she would have the desire to solve the problems on the earth, but have not done so must not have the means to do so and therefore not all powerful.
He claimed that there was 2 gods in the bible, one all good as mentioned in Zechariah 9:16,17, and an all powerful god as mentioned in Zechariah 14:12.

hi guys, i was researching this because of something that's going on with a family member, and i found it quite interesting since some other family members who we have tried counseling on the use of this substance told us that marijuana is not addictive, that it's an innocent plant and is not harmful yadayadayada, yeah right!
i intend to go over this with our kids and make sure they understand the documented dangers of this very popular drug.
i just wanted to share it with you all.
I've had 2 friends who have had problems after using canabis. A few years back one friend was using the drug. When she was high she forgot about all her problems, but they came back with a vengeance when she sobered up. Becasue of this she would just get high again, ending up being virtually constantly stoned. It caused a lot of problems for her, but from what I hear she's sorted them and doing really well for herself now.
Rob had misused canabis since he was 13, over half his life. When he was 30 he developed schizophenia. I spent valentines day 2004 driving round Durham desperately trying to find him before he found the person who had slighted him and murdered him. When I found him he had been trying to kick their door in. He went into hosptial not long after that. He had a really good job which he lost, and has been unable to work since then. His symptons were EXACTLY what had been predicted for those who abuse canabis.
My view on Cananbis is that it is like another other drug, including nicotine, alcohol, as well as stronger ones - Use it correctly and in small doses and your fine, but mis/overuse it and your going to have problems.
best method for searching jwd?.
i have used the google option found on the boardand have used google via a site:www.jehovahs-witness.com [topic] command.. i am fairly certain that i am missing some posts as i remember reading posts and then am unable to locate them later.. any suggestions are appreciated.. thank you..

don't step on the ducks !!
three women die together in an accident and go to heaven.
when they get there, st. peter says, "we only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!
A local preacher was dissatisfied with the small amount in the collection plates each Sunday. Someone suggested to him that perhaps he might be able to hypnotize the congregation into giving more. "And just how would I go about doing that?" he asked. "It is very simple. First you turn up the air conditioner so that the auditorium is warmer than usual. Then you preach in a monotone. Meanwhile, you dangle a watch on a chain and swing it in a slow arc above the lectern and suggest they put 20 dollars in the collection plate."
So the very next Sunday, the reverend did as suggested, and lo and behold the plates were full of 20 dollar bills. Now, the preacher did not want to take advantage of this technique each and every Sunday. So therefore, he waited for a couple of weeks and then tried his mass hypnosis again. Just as the last of the congregation was becoming mesmerized, the chain on the watch broke and the watch hit the lectern with a loud thud and springs and parts flew everywhere.
"Crap!" exclaimed the pastor. It took them a week to clean up the church.

Does the Society assume everyone who comes to their website is deaf and would understand sign language? Or is there a non-sign language "End of All False Religion" webpage?
I'm confused. If someone is looking on a webpage then why don't they just put up the text?
