To me the most important things are to worship Nature and to love and protect all animals and other living creatures. Humans, not so much!

I Think I Caught A Lie!
by lambsbottom in*** w13 7/15 p. 7 par.
15 tell us, when will these things be?
and in his parable of the sheep and the goats, jesus states: the son of man arrives in his glory.

People, why concern yourselves with all this silliness? From my viewpoint, Jesus has never 'returned' and never will. He is dead and gone forever just like EVERY other person who has ever lived. Look at how many people put their lives and happiness on hold, awaiting the Second Coming that will supposedly 'solve everything'. Folks, the best bet in my opinion is to quit obsessing about Biblical fairy tales and live your present live NOW, to the best of your ability. Because NOW is ultimately all we ever have. The future will take care of itself when it arrives.

I hope some JW lurkers look at that Watchtower cover and realize that all those elderly folks on the cover DID in fact pass away. Excuse me, but didn't The Watchtower Magazine say FOR DECADES that it was Jehovah's PROMISE that the 1914 generation wouldn't all die prior to Armageddon? It wasn't the Watchtower's promise...it was JEHOVAH'S PROMISE. And Jehovah cannot lie, remember? So what happened? Did the GB cook up some 'New Light' that somehow superseded Jehovah's solemn promise??? So who to believe.....Jehovah's ORIGINAL TRUE PROMISE or the new Watchtower Lite version?? I guess in JW-land even Jehovah's Word can be wrong sometime.

I'm sure the parents of the JW kids are bad-mouthing the comic convention people......saying they are 'worldly', Satanic, 'not friends of Jehovah', etc. Heaven forbid JW kids actually get to have some vicarious enjoyment.

What is this phenomenon?
by exWTslave inthough my colleague had requested for one week extension of her leave as her typhoid was becoming more stubborn, she came to work after two days.
when asked what miracle took place, she had this to say: your wording seems to be correct.
you would rememberi contracted typhoid same time last year.

I'm sure Pyramid Power and Tibetan healing Crystals 'cure' some people if they strongly believe in it. Psychic Surgery also has it's adherents. But in West Africa, it doesn't appear that the local 'witch doctors' are having much luck 'curing' Ebola. If there is ever a cure or vaccine, my guess is that Western scientific medicine will develop it.

I dunno. Sounds about as plausible as the 'Resurrection' story in the Bible. But who am I to say?

To me it seems that almost all religions center around mitigating the fear of Death. One of the things all humans have in common is uncertainty about death.....and what happen after we die. So religions have historically exploited those fears by providing comforting myths about a Heaven or Paradise we supposedly go to after we die. Of course the leaders of these religions set the ground rules as to who 'lives forever' and who doesn't. A perfect way to make their followers toe the line. There isn't now and never will be any actual PROOF that anyone has EVER lived beyond physical death. The answer from the religions is: Because we say so'. Jesus's so-called 'return from death' is just one in a long line of tall-tales written of in the bible. I know there are MANY folks who completely believe they will somehow continue to live on after they die. That's fine, but they really need to come up with some concrete proof before I will buy into it. Until then, I will consider that death is THE END for all humans, myself included.

City of Houston Demands Pastors Turn Over Gay-Bashing Sermons

I am NO fan of anti-gay Christian churches. But for the government to demand that church pastors turn over their sermons for 'review' goes totally against our Constitution and Bill of Rights, in my opinion. We have such a thing as Freedom of Religion in this country. Churches have the absolute right to their beliefs, even if other people disagree. Nobody is FORCED to be a church member or to agree with everything the pastor says. What if a Southern Baptist-dominated city in Alabama decided to force a local Gay-friendly church to turn over it's sermons for approval?? That wouldn't be right, either. To me, what the City of Houston is trying to do is political-correctness run amok. By the way, I'm gay but I also support the Freedom of Religion as well as the Freedom FROM Religion! I might not agree with what a church says, but I strongly defend their right to express their beliefs without interference by the Government.
