The whole Genesis 'Adam & Eve' story is really something that doesn't make ANY sense. What about Neanderthals? How do they fit in? Science now says that Modern Humans and Neanderthals co-existed in Europe tens of thousands of years ago. How do Witnesses explain this? Most Witnesses, indeed most fundamentalist Christians, never think deeply enough to wonder about this.

Take a moment and look at it an entirely different way . . .
by Terry ina transcendant being resides as a glob of cellular matter in a woman's body for nine months stitching together a human without the dna of a male human being.. the being is squeezed out of the vaginal canal of his host/mother and has to poop and piss on himself for a couple of years.
what is wrong with this picture?.
the consciousness of the fetus would be what, then?.

Did You Ever Stumble Anyone?
by minimus ini don't think i ever did but i would have been honored to do so..

The best response if the Elders complain that you 'stumbled' someone: 'I guess whoever I 'stumbled' will just have to put on their big girl (boy) panties and deal with it as an adult. I'm sure they'll work it out for themselves without my help.' Then end the conversation.

"You don't pee next to a cop," and other rules from the mens room that women don't know
by GrreatTeacher ini was recently at a baseball game with friends and family when i learned something new.
beer had been drunk and the men made their way to the men's room to relieve themselves.
when they got back i asked them what took them so long.

Why do women's restrooms generally have chairs or sofas and are nicely decorated? I'm a guy but I have glimpsed these niceties when a door was opened as I walked by. Men's restrooms seem to be very utilitarian.....pee, fart, poop, and leave. Hand-washing optional. Most straight men will venture a VERY quick and furtive glance at the other guy's 'equipment' if truth be told. Of course in gay bars, that rule is somewhat relaxed....(I know from personal experience).

99.9% Of a People Who Believe In Evolution Don't Understand It.
by Space Madness ini never believed in evolution as i thought it didn't make sense and that what was proposed was simply impossible.
how could an environment alter an organism's dna?
as we can see however, bacteria cannot become resistance to antibiotics.

Is there a Creator who gives a s*** about you?
by DATA-DOG in....why your child died, or you have cancer, or lost friends to a mudslide, tsunami, car accident, flood, tornado, hurricane or senseless act of violence.
why your child was molested, or you were molested, or you were slandered by an elder, or boe, or the gb.
why children die of starvation everyday, why faithful xians die every day, some mauled by dogs in field circus.

Folks, what it all boils down to is: There is no 'God' up in the sky. 'Jehovah' is an elaborate fairy tale, along with the Bible. The Governing Body is just a group of old fogies in bad clothing. Rank and File Witnesses will all be dead and gone sooner or later. No 'New System' or 'Paradise Earth' awaits. In conclusion: The truth ain't always pretty.

Baptizing defenseless young children into an adult-oriented, anti-child cult should be viewed as a form of child abuse sanctioned by the Watchtower GB. Let's just start calling it what it really is: Emotional abuse of children!!

Church of Scientology Phone Call
by OnTheWayOut inso my sister is in a nursing home with dibilitating disease.
i forwarded her mail to my home when she went in.
otwo: you don't need to know anything about me.

The BEST way to stop Scientology calls is to say to them: 'Before I talk to you, please tell me about 'Xenu' in detail.' Since Xenu is ONLY supposed to be known about and discussed by super-elite Scientologists, that should end the conversation. Keep repeating: 'Tell me in detail about Xenu'. If they say they don't know anything about Xenu, tell them they need to research the matter before making phone calls to strangers.

What is the JW Mindset?
by losingit inis it based on gullibility, naivete, the ability to suspend all logic and reason in order to hold onto fantasized "realities" of a paradise earth where all humanity will be perfect, where all wars and violence will cease?
is it a personal preponderance to the extreme-- whether it be in judgmentalism, cruelty, rigidity, negativity, and/ or righteousness that lends itself to extreme closemindedness and shortsightedness?.
how do you define it for yourself?
-
NAVYTOWN
To me the main thing about the JW Mindset is the complete lack of original thinking and logic. The brochures picture 'Paradise Earth' as being filled with happy people eating baskets of fruit. As a perfect example of how the Witnesses totally deny reality, try asking them: 'Will people still need to pee and poop in Paradise?? If so, who will be taking care of waste disposal?? Will THEY consider it 'paradise'??? No doubt they will give a vague answer such as: 'Oh, Jehovah will take care of that problem.' Which is exactly what they are programmed to say when asked any question that requires original, logical thinking.

Pretty Sad
by piztjw init really is pretty sad that the gb and their "fair-haired-boys" cannot get their stories straight even from one day to the next.. friday, while touting the greatness of jw.org the rc speaker bragged about the web site being translated into over 400 languages.
on saturday splane bragged about it being translated in 369 languages.
while that is close to 400 it surely isn't over 400.. then yesterday one of the speakers said, "the mormon church is investing on internet web site outreach.

There are MANY things I'd rather be doing on a summer weekend than sitting in a baking-hot stadium in Texas humidity listening to some boring old farts droning on and on and on. For teens and younger children, that must be inhuman torture. Hopefully a lot of folks will get fed up and leave after a few miserable hours. Swimming in the hotel pool will sound so much better!!

You don't seem to be as happy anymore!?
by stuckinarut2 ini have been told by some in the cong that i don't seem to be as happy anymore..."what's wrong?
" they ask..... i feel like screaming out "i'm not happy because i'm going insane living a sham fake life stuck in the org pretending to be a good ms and witness!".
i really do feel it is taking a toll on me...and even the damn bros and sis are now seeing it!.

You could try saying this in response to their questioning: 'I have noticed the exact same thing in this congregation. The joyfulness that used to be here seems to have died out. The old enthusiasm is gone. People seem to just be going through the motions. It's very evident. Why do you think that is??' So that puts it right back on them. Might get them thinking. Try it.
