Since your Dad apparently believes God created humans a mere 6000 years ago, ask him if he believes there were Neanderthals? Since they died out a long time prior to 6000 years ago, how does he explain their existence? And most modern humans carry some Neanderthal DNA, so we know they existed. Of course, your Dad will have some prefabricated JW approved answer for this. But it might be fun to see how he responds. Just an idea. Hint: Do a little research on Neanderthals before you discuss this with him.

Never get into a debate like this with a JW....they live in La-La Land. Why waste your time and energy trying to change his mind? Let him believe he isn't a 'creationist' if that makes him happy. Why let it bother you to this extent. Surely you have better things to spend time on. Let it go!

Dog and New Baby

he is a shelter dog and we are not exactly sure of the mix.

When I was in the Witnesses, the people who hosted the book study had a dog, I can't recall the breed or age, but it was a medium size dog. Then they had a baby and immediately gave up the dog. Not sure where the dog went. But it pissed me off.....I doubt seriously the prick husband ever tried to adjust the dog to the new baby. And, that prick would watch his 3 year old son like a hawk at the book study. If the child so much as squirmed the would be takien to the back room and spanked. Many years later, when that kid was maybe 19 years old, I heard that he grew his hair long and had a beard. He also refused to be a Witness. I thought to myself: Good for him!!! What goes around comes around!!!

Could it be that Jehovah is punishing me for leaving his religion?
by Julia Orwell ini know it's a completely absurd thing to say, but something happened to me today that triggered the old cult reaction.
my mind instantly lapsed back into that of a jw and for a split second i thought that because i wasn't doing jehovah things that jehovah's blessing had been removed from me and this is why my life seems to be running into so many dead-ends.
as a jw i attributed anything good happening to me to being the result of my being a good jw and dutifully doing everything the borg teaches.

First of all.....there is no 'Jehovah'.....whatever happens,happens......there is no Sky-Daddy causing anything to happen, whether good or bad.....just remember that it is your own effort that will determine your future. Keep plugging away and don't get discouraged. Best wishes!

There are definitely some JWs who have a screw loose.....most just don't become violent killers like these two young men.
