To me it seems the basic problem with all religions is the belief that THEIR RELIGION has all the answers to Living and Dying. In order to 'belong' to a particular religion a person has to adopt that religion's practices and dogma. My 'perfect' religion would be one that DOESN'T claim to have the 'Truth' and have all things figured out. With that perspectiive, each person in a relationship can hold whatever beliefs they choose, and allow the other party to believe however they choose. Who says a couple both have to adopt identical answers to Life? "Belief' is strictly a personal matter existing within each person's brain. You can 'love' a person for who they are in real life.....what they 'believe' doesn't have to be a barrier unless one partner makes an issue of iit.

What Is The Fate Of Adam and Eve? And Will John the Baptist See Heaven?
by Cold Steel inat one point, didn't the society teach that adam and eve either would not be resurrected or, if so, they would not attain the kingdom of heaven?
i remember that a number of years ago, a jw told me that john the baptist also would not obtain eternal life in the kingdom of heaven.
their evidence was matthew 11:11, where jesus says, "verily i say unto you, among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than john the baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.".

More absolute nonsense from the Watchtower. They will say and do anything to keep from living in the real world and helping to solve actual human problems like homelessness, poverty, famine, etc. Their only answer is to knock on more doors peddling their gloom & doom message.

MY CONCLUSION IS: 'GOD' DOESN'T EXIST
by NAVYTOWN ini have come to the conclusion that there is no god.
period!!!
if there was a loving, righteous, all-knowing, all powerful god up there somewhere, where is he and what good is he???

OCEAN 1111: All of your comments still don't answer my one basic question: IF there is an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-forgiving and loving 'Father' up in Heaven, WHY has he NEVER lifted a finger to assist his 'children' when his help is needed the most??? Six million Jews exterminated in Germany during Hitler's regime. Where was God????? So Hitler was evil, or under the spell of a so-called Satan.....whatever.....still God was nowhere to be found. While I suspect the Universe was formed by forces that we do not currently understand, I don't for a minute think the answers are in the Bible. There is more to Life and the Universe than we know at present, but I don't think the churches have the answers. I'm perfectly comfortable with the fact that we DON'T have all the answers. That leads to continued inquiry and scientific exploration. Having 'all the answers' can be a very limiting place to be.

Circuit assembly symposium: help those who have become inactive
by rosyray ini just discovered that the circuit assembly my family is attending tomorrow contains a symposium entitled:.
help others to seek jehovah's righteousness: those who have become inactive.
i poked around a bit on here and didn't find any comments about this.

The REAL subject of the symposium: 'How to use guilt and fear to manipulate inactive ones into becoming fully brainwashed JWs again.'

Do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?
by new light init has been a long time.. thanks to jw.org, i was reading some jw material (what does the bible teach i believe).
it was the first time reading a "book study" book in many years and i was blown away by the controlling, cultish writing.
this question especially struck me as manipulative: do you believe that we are living in the last days, and why?.

If a JW asked me the question: 'Do you believe we are living in the last days?'. I would answer 'Oh, do you mean the same 'last days' that JWs were preaching about back in the early 20th Century??? Why should I believe it now when all those previous predictions never came true???'. Then I would tell them to get lost.

I view the JW 'religion', Jonestown and Heaven's Gate in exactly the same way: EVIL CULTS!!! All causing untold harm and misery to their deluded followers. A common factor is that all three cults promise 'salvation' if only the leaders are believed unconditionally. The JW 'religion' is really just pure EVIL when all is said and done. Who can donut that most die-hard JWs would gladly drink poison and die if the cult leaders commanded it. After all, they already tell Witness parents to let their sick children die rather than accept a life-saving blood transfusion. They are totally EVIL!!!

Your husband's 'reasoning' exemplifies the JW mindset that says there is a vengeful, dictatorial 'God' up in the sky who punishes JWs who don't toe the Watchtower line in every respect. Good that your daughter has seen thru the BS. I hope she finds a way to completely break away from any involvement with that evil religion. Best wishes to both you and your daughter.

A SPECIAL OCCASION.....
by NAVYTOWN ini came across a saying that i especially like: 'don't ever save anything for a special occasion.
every day you are alive is a special occasion.
compare that to the jw mindset that says this world is a terrible place and that jws will only be truly happy 'someday' when they get to 'paradise'.

Mental Disorders among JW's
by Blackfalcon98 inhi everyone, im begining to notice patterns of mental issues in the congregations and among the witnesses as a group.
do you think this is a trend in the entire world or is it exagerated in this organization?.

JWs relish the idea that 'Jehovah' will exterminate most of the human race...soon!!! They look forward to this. And, JWs are happy to allow their critically-sick kids to die rather than accept a life-saving blood transfusion. Additionally, JWs will cut off all contact with their own children if the kids decide to leave the Witnesses. To me, these behaviors are not just indicative of severe mental illness.....they are indications of moral blindness and, indeed, EVIL!!! Yes, I said EVIL!!! All those 'nice and kind' JWs are in fact monsters who enjoy inflicting pain and death on innocent people. Let's just start telling it like it is.
