This happened to my mom last October. She had hip and knee surgery to resolve issue with pain. Everything went fine, but several days later, she got infection in her knee and had to hospitalized again. It is actually common when people get infection after surgery or after injection. My mom is allergic on most common antibiotics and it was very difficult to treat her. She got even more sick and spent most of October to be lying, which postponed her rehabilitation. -

No more reporting time for field service!!!
by Khaleesi inso at last i am in my next step of my fade, this month is the first month i did not turned in any hours.
i received a text from our group leader an ms & i told him i didn't have any to report, then of course it got bumped up to the elder & i text him back i have no hours to report for december.
i came to this decision when reading many posters here about the yearbook stats, i do not want & refused to contribute to this organization "boosting" numbers for their glorious purposes, after the rc in australia they do not deserve for me to give them a "production" report of what i do for god, no more.

My last report was in April 1994. I studied with a young couple, and we went through book of Revelation, which also had it as a book study in KH under Great Climax... During that study, I realized It was all man-made religion and stopped attending any JW related events. It was this couple that helped me to get on my feet, secured job that paid a rent and I was free. We stayed friends for several years. I only told my mom that I do not believe it anymore several years later and she was ok with it; but my siblings did not talk to me for years. I just walked away, did not fade, and did not write DA letter. Nobody from KH ever tried to contacting me, no call, no visit, nothing. -

Who is your favourite thinker?
by The Rebel inhaving recently read orwells 1984, i was impressed with how he understood that both politicians and people abuse language.
this further confirmed to me how the w.t had deceived me by using words to distort reality.
the book 1984, also contains many other great thoughts of george orwell.. of course there have been many other great thinkers, buddah, darwin, freud, einstein and marx come to mind.

I actually never had favorite thinker. We had to study some of them at university, but I never developed significant attachment to any of them. However, I liked some of the reasoning and thinking they presented. I find St. Augustine and his City of God to be interesting and deeply influential of Western European Christian theology. I liked Plotinus and still have his book on the shelve. I never got into Orwell, even when I have read him during the communist time as he was illegal, probably, because the system was already in place. -

Some form of Judaism believes that Serpent and Eve had mated and Kain was an offspring of this relationship. Therefore, Eve is called a mother of all living, but not Adam, because he was not a father of all humanity. "Genesis 4:1: ‘ And Adam knew his wife Eve, who was pregnant by the Angel Sammael, and she conceived and bare Cain; and he was like the heavenly beings, and not like the earthly beings, and she said, I have acquired a man, the angel of the Lord." - from Targum of Jonathan.
The rivalry between Abel and Kain was caused by two brothers having two different daddies. The hatred between two classes of people was brought to the offspring. Some interpretation from Judaism said that the war is between children of Serpent and Adam, and has nothing to do with Christian Messiah. Some more radical rabbinic stories said that the fall from grace was that both Adam and Eve had inappropriate 3-way sexual relationship with a Serpent and were not pure afterward. This was also a cause for their mutual shame. Two years ago I posted on the Serpent Seed here from Midrash, but I do not feel to look for the links again.
The stories between Adam, Eve, and Serpent having sexual relationship is old over 1000 years. They were also known to medieval Christianity and Renaissance. It is not recent invention.

My experience with Mormons are as bad as with JW. I experienced far more open antisemitism from them than I have ever seen among JWs. And JWs are fairly antisemitic. -

SOME similiarities between Putin and the GB
by Truthexplorer ini was watching a french news programme today that looked at why putin has quite a high following within russia despite the fact he rules with an iron fist.
the journalist highlighted the fact that putin is happy for individuals to question his policies (within reason) 'as long as' you support him as president.
it was only afterwards i got to thinking....who is it that jehovah's witnesses aren't allowed to question whatsoever?

One thing is certain, Putin will not be here forever, and once he dies, the system he created on ruins of post-cold Russia will go away. As did Stalinism and Brezhnev doctrine. However, WT will be here as long it has followers. It will survive everyone who is on the top of the chain. They are just a big cog on overall BS mechanism.
I do not think that non-Russians can ever understand Putin. I see him as a disaster for Russia in making. His economic boom based on the expensive commodities is gone, and by next two years all economic changes and progress from 1999 will be erased. Also it is imperative that the issue Russia faces is not challenge them forward, but to look into long lost past. It would be the same if Germans would start to rationalize that the Fourth Reich is the answer for their current social and economic problems. I remember USSR, communism, and the system. It was horrible, but Putin managed to create an aura of glorious past that was in reality not that good. WT in comparison would have to point out to the era of Knorr, but it does not. It is not organization caught into its past, and cares less about it.

What is your relationship with ALCOHOL?
by nicolaou inhere in the uk new drinking guidelines have been issued which suggest "no more than 14 units a week - equivalent to six pints of beer or seven glasses of wine.".
another piece of the advice which is getting a lot of attention is that "if people drink, it should be moderately over three or more days and that some days should be alcohol-free.".
already people are making cries of "nanny state!

My JW uncle was drunk all the time. It was extremely annoying as he would try to crash at our house so his JW wife would not get pissed. My uncle once came late at night and my dad let him in to sleep on the couch. He became belligerent and attacked my dad and fight ensured where cops were called in. My dad ended in emergency room with stitches and from that point he never let his brother to stay at all. My JW relatives denied that it has nothing to do with alcohol and accused my father that he incited the fight. Nevertheless, my uncle never was welcomed. He tried from time to time to get into our house after heavy drinking, throwing rocks into windows, but my dad never let him in fearing for our safety. Neighbors usually called cops and he was taken away. My uncle than used to go to his mom to sober up, so his family would not know how wasted he was. What I heard he died from a liver cancer. -

The state has power, but not to protect its citizen.
The power of the state is derived from the citizens. It seems that German state is incapable to protects its citizens, but also is willing to suppress its citizenry. The suppression of the demonstrations became German's international embarrassment and causes as a rift between EU members countries. Hosing down demonstrators will not scare nor end enraged citizens. Pegida is organizing demonstrations for months, so they will not be stopped by this incident. The next move for Merkel's democracy would be total suppression of the opposition, and starting with mass arrests of Germans citizens. I wonder if this will be move from water cannons to armored vehicles by summer and declaration of some kind of state of emergency.

It is obvious that Germany is not handling situation well and is heading to disaster. Now when people are demonstrating, the liberal German government decided to use water cannons against its tax paying citizens. Where were the police on 12/31 - 1/1 when hundreds of German women were molested. German democracy in action:
Something like this did communists in the 1967-1969 in Czechoslovakia, and when this did not work, they were using tanks and sharp ammo. In 1988-1989 I was hosed by water cannon in downtown of Prague. It is the end of Merkel's multi-culti Germany? Is this what people want? Civil disobedience and riots? Was it worth it to bring 1 million illegals into that country? Where are these apologists from last summer and fall who said that Germany is handling the situation nicely and all these refugees are so great. I do not see them posting on it anymore.
