http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/six-word_memoirs.
thought it might be interesting to connect with life as a witness.. my thoughts:.

Why doesn't god do anything tangible now?
by punkofnice ini was always told that god did loads of stuff that was evidence of his existance.
ususally very brutal things too (b#st@rd).. jesus walked on water and raised the dead we are told.. it seems to me also that the older the story, the more exaggerated it is...y'know...talking snake......global flood.. there are those that claim god speaks to them now and they alone 'know' it.
(cuckoo!!!).

Any spirit in heaven could post on this thread right now and give instructions of where we all could see a miracle to prove to all of us their legitimacy.
As a matter of fact, why doesn't someone in heaven write the name of god in the sky and make it stay there for like a month.
Wouldn't that be easier than all this other crap.

Is The Governing Body Over Jehovah's Witnesses A Bunch Of Arrogant Old Retirees Considering After All That They Claim To Be Christ's Right Hand Man Directing His Dad's Organization On Earth?
by frankiespeakin inthese guys believe that they are running and directing "god's organization" and it is all based on some flimsy parable interpetation about a master who left a slave in charge while he went away with the outcome uncertain upon his return.
not a very solid case to be pointedly honest.
jesus would have made a better choice of donald trump to run his father's business/watchtower corporation, he's less arrogant and doesn't discourage higher education, and plastic children's toys are not a major concern of his.. what is arrogance?.

Wow Saul
High-Horse to the gutter in no time flat.
You seem unstable. That's ok though. That's what watchtower does to people.
It takes a long long time to get your head straight.
The difference you will find here is that we understand and people will be here for you when you hit bottom.
Hyper-defensiveness of the dogma is your mind flailing and trying to hang on to what another part of your mind already knows is toast.

Most Ridiculous Thing You've Ever Been Counseled On
by MrFreeze ini'm sure topics like this have already come up but they tend to get hilarious with the absolute absurdity that goes on in the kh.
i was once counseled for not shaving after two days.
i was also counseled by a sister for eating lucky charms cereal.

My wife and I were counseled to not arrive at the Kingdom Hall in separate cars because it looked like we are having marital problems.
The fact that we were coming straight from work didn't matter.

The venom comes from being lied to.
Not many here were ever emotionally invested in the lies of other religions as can be ascertained by the name of this website.
Maybe you don't get it yet, Saul, but you've been duped.

The Biggest Fear From The Watchtower Organization Is ???
by minimus ini think the organization is worried most about how jws will stay loyal to their families even as it rejects the admonition of the gb and elders..
-
TTATTelder
Their biggest fear right now is that everybody will look at their calendars and say
"2014! What the hell? These dumb arses have been beating this drum for a hundred freaking years!
....the hell with them ....I'm relaxing on Sat mornings and taking a day trip every Sunday."
That's their biggest fear. Thus the double-down on fear, guilt, and authority-structure watchtower lessons.
It's also the reason for all these international conventions - to distract from the obvious embarrassment that this year is.

The Watchtower religion(JWS), that really couldn't fail, from beginning to ........
by Finkelstein inwhen one looks back retrospectively at the very beginning of this organization, you could see that the wts.. was on a structural platform of success, created by cunningly created doctrines, such as the invisible return of.
christ, the end times and the imminently soon to come armageddon, all bundled together.. .. this religious organization like so many others established in the united states was unregulated and had.
no upper governing control over its daily operations.. they proclaimed and taught what they wanted to or needed to sustain their operations as a publishing house.. .

I am currently an elder and am getting to the point that I just can't stomach it anymore.
It's true about the enforcer stuff. We tell ourselves we are here for the friends, but what are we allowed to even say to them?
It's their (GB's) game. The elders' meetings are 90% about deciphering what the "arrangement" is. In other words "what are the rules?"
It's "christian congregation" this and "christian congregation" that. All the latest buzz words for the governing body and their legal dept. It gets on my nerves.
Men feel powerful and important to represent a large company/organization that has authority.
Honestly it feels like a big ploy for control and continuance of what a bunch of men at the top (and middle) think is a good thing. They have a bunch of people giving them reverence and honour as if they/we represent God. They also have a perfect plan to keep their wives and kids in line. Don't get me started on some elders' preoccupation with the "headship arrangement".
