Red Pill - Thank you for posting and while I was younger I used music to express myself since I couldn't 'show' how I felt. I also used poetry and I wrote many short stories. Later in life I still struggle with letting go of the hurt and wonder of it all and just live. I stopped looking to my parent for approval and began seeing them as people - who make mistakes and I still have to fight off the childness' of (why can't life be like everyone elses) things. Basically, I have to let go of my expectations of them and enjoy my life for what it is. Their approval is no longer necessary and that's a relief for all of us.

by the_red_pill inhey all im new to this site its really interesting to see people working out issues, getting things off their chests, and building a community.
im 23 and broke with the faith when i left my parents house at 17, in effect i had before that but it took a while to free my mind from the doctrine.

My online debate with a few JWs
by Wolfgirl inthe other day, i asked for help finding some info regarding the flip-flops on conscientious objecting.

Swan - GREAT idea, I'll cast my vote for Wolfgirl
I had troubles getting to the thread but eventually found it. I could hear the dubs turning through their 'Bible' dex minds before spitting out yet another (overused) 'verse'. Give me a break and answer the question, not spit out a verse!
HEY here's one - if I was never a JW and yet don't agree with their views, does that make me 'worldly' or an 'apostate'? Just wondering.

Long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the Land of Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good Witch makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.
WICKED, the untold story of the witches of Oz, features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, Academy Award winner for Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt) and book by Winnie Holzman ("My So Called Life," "Once And Again" and "thirtysomething"), and is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. With musical staging by Tony Award winner Wayne Cilento (Aida, The Who's Tommy, How To Succeed...), WICKED is directed by 2003 Tony Award winner Joe Mantello (Take Me Out, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, A Man of No Importance).
So I really hate anything Oz related and took a dear friend of mine to this. It was excellent. The acting and singing were great, the story was ideal and would recommend it to anyone who's interested in seeing something in NYC other than Les Mis. (not that there's anything wrong with Les Mis. but I just have something about taking a drama and turning it into a musical). See it with a friend or loved one and you'll remember what it is about that person that you appreciate. There are many Oz references I didn't (or want to) get and the two 'wiches' are great together. It really wasn't anything like I expected and parts were really funny. So I'm giving it 4 out of 5 Broadway taps.

Kill Bill -- Volume 1 by Quentin Terentino
by logansrun ini saw this flick last night.
the most violent movie i've ever seen, hands down.
a little more and it would have gotten an nc-17 rating for sure.. that being said -- brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Saw the flick Friday night and I'm still wondering if I liked it or not. I loved the bleeping out of the Bride's name and got the whole western meets eastern 7 Samari thing, however I did miss the typical Terentino macabre conversations. It seemed as if he replaced the conversations with g ratuitous violence. The soundtrack sounds very typical and may be a must have. The ending was slightly predictable and I have to see part II. This really isn't a MUST see on the big screen, but I did enjoy the audience here in NYC react to the film. Uma & Daryl look great and there are a few one classic liners....................silly rabbit

my promise to you, a quote from ray franz
by the mole in***the mole*** i told many of you i recieved a letter from ray franz regarding my situation with my family and my kingdom hall.
his kindness and compassion found the time to write me and uplift me, this should help tinkerbell82 also....-----ray wrote, " as for what you will do in your present situation, that is something you must work out with god's help and the guidance of his spirit.
one must make decisions as to what conscience can allow, what good can be accomplished.

Keep on knocking and the door shall open
by JH injesus said these words thousands of years ago meaning that if you insist, finally things will work out for you.
he also meant to pray to god continuously in order to receive.
praying or not, did you have the impression that by knocking continuously that things finally worked out for you in life or did you find that the door remained closed no matter what?

YES! But it took YEARS! I wanted a child.
Here it is....I was 25, newly married we wanted children, after two years, tests and more testing, the doctors determined there wasn't anything medically wrong with each of us. We soon divorced (over MANY issues) no children (everyone says that's a good thing-but it really sucked at the time). Basically the more I went to Church, the more pissed I was since all these other women could have children. I was angry, but kept knocking....Anyhow at 28 I landed a GREAT job, enjoyed life, bought a house, life was good and now I wanted to share it with a little someone- again - (baby or toddler type). I tried everything (even sex) and still couldn't conceive. Single parenthood wouldn't have been ideal, but I didn't care at this point. Eventually I stopped that and was accepted into a state adoption program and went to foster care classes. I was really excited about sharing my life, values with a little person. THEN I was sent to a school for my job, met my hubby and at 33 finally gave birth to Rachael.
As you can see I banged my head against the door - eventually it was opened and I received it all in His time and not the way I originally though it would be.

Is it Time For Watchtower Begging Again?
by metatron inalas, some expensive witness traditions have ended - like food service at assemblies or mailed subscriptions.. however, since 1996, the society has had a tradition of begging for money in the november watchtower.. i think they hope rich witnesses will think about re-balancing their portfolios or making changes before the end.
of the taxable year in december.. .
lawyers and new printing facilities ( to be on-line in 2005) cost a lot of money, so look for their appeal soon.. .

T hey have many family members who are interested in weekly Bible Studies and therefore your congergation will actually receive more money that origionally thought by one simple donation.

JH - Years ago (5 now thinking back) I was in a bad situation at work, so I prayed and prayed for relief from this situation (I wanted something to happen to the person causing me problems) and after a while I just 'let it go' and things worked out for the better (I was removed from the area into a better one for my career). I find I don't always get what I THINK I would like or deserve (riches etc...), but is that REALLY what He wants? I've found that doors do open, you just have to look down the hallway and make sure you're at the right one. "Thy will be done", is the hardest thing to do and try to live up to. So keep knocking, but watch for other (unexpected) doors to open. I hope this helps in some way.

I am the kind of person that just walks away from their problems, instead of confronting them. When people hurt me, I will hardly ever show it, voice my feelings or anything. I will just shut down like a clamp, and lick my wounds in private. When I am unhappy with a relationship, I'll end it.
I usually avoid confrontation at any cost & have extinguished many o? relationships due to that. It?s a defense mechanism that (although may not be the most healthy) works for you. You won?t end up bitter unless you really regret things. SO live life without regret and keep your expectations high. If your expectations are high, then you won?t settle for anything (or anyone) less. NOW I?m off to happy hour for you!
