607 vs 587 BC - Cyrus Cylinder

hi everyone,.

i'm researching 587 vs 607 for the date of the destruction of jerusalem... i'm not doing the research to prove or disprove anything about 1914, rather i'm looking at these dates in comparison to 1948 & 1967.. what is your view on relying on the cyrus cylinder, to accept 607 as the correct date of destruction... i know that there are many other factors.. but i'm trying to keep this portion of my research as simple as possible, so i'm primarily interested in the appropriateness of using the cylinders date of 537 + 70 = 607. one other question.. is it likely that both dates 587 & 607 have their own significance?.

when i first began studying in order to "make the truth my own", there were a set of scriptures that perplexed me and motivated me to dig deeper.. the scriptures are regarding the resurrection of the inhabitants of sodom & gomorrah.. see jesus words here - matthew 10:15 - "truly i say to you, it will be more endurable for the land of sodom and gomorrah on judgment day than for that city.

" (ezekiel 16:48 / matthew 11:23 / matthew 11:24 / luke 10:12 ).

any time that i brought these scriptures up to jw friends and family they would reply like this "jesus was speaking in hyperbole.. that is why he said it would be more endurable".. i would clarify and show them that it says "will be".

if jehovah resurrects the inhabitants of sodom & gomorrah, to give them a fair chance to life.. he truly is love!.

please see the wt and related articles in the resurrection of sodom & gomorrah : 1879 resurrection confirmed : = yes "let me give you an illustration that will be forcible: the sodomites.

surely if we find their restitution mentioned you will be satisfied.

for any christians, i'd like to get your opinion.. i believe that all organized religions are a part of babylon the great.

this includes the jw organization, in my opinion.. what do you feel is required to "get out of her"?would disasociation / disfellowshipment be appropriate?if one chose not to dissasociate himself, would it be wrong to still attend meetings with the hope of turning some to the bible?when jesus speaks of the scribes & pharisees do you feel that these could be compared to the elders or the gb?if the scribes and pharisees are among the religions of babylon the great, what would be the signifigance of jesus words at matther 23:2,3?

i would like to share my understanding of armageddon & the end of the 1,000 year reign.

i would really appreciate any criticism, or facts that dispute this understanding... especially if the facts are from the bible.. - adam & eve were perfect and they sinned with a perfect mind & body.. - all mankind that has lived since adam & eve have been imperfect, none have had the ability to resist sin, nor have they had the ability to see or understant absolute truth that can only originate from god.. - if imperfect humans were judged, while still imperfect, one could reason that adam & eve had been given a better chance at life then what the rest of humanity was given.. - 1 john 4:8,9.

matthew 11:24 is a great scripture to use, when speaking with friends & family, that are still "blinded".

"24?consequently i say to you people, it will be more endurable for the land of sodom on judgment day than for you.".

the current understanding is that jesus was using hyperbole.
