  Is it kind of funny that JWs don't give Jesus resurrection day any notice?

  if you think about it, for a die hard christian the day jesus was supposed to be resurrected and back in heaven, thereby fulfilling his earthly mission, is a very big day.

  all the jws i know never even thought about it.

  in fact if i had mentioned it, i bet they would have looked me at strangely.

  that very big day was 1981 years ago.

  So the resurrection is on their mind every day and hour of the year, not once a year.

  it seems the main countries are not visiting the jw.org site as they say in their stats.. this is the claims made: jw.org reaches 230 nations.

  but here are the stats from alexa.. i realise alexa is not 100% accurate, but it is sure different ti jw claims.... country.. % of visitors.. rank in that country.

  @phizzy LDS.ORG is ranked 2,473 (average position of the last 90 days) on the world ranking list and about 75% of their traffic comes from within the USA

  JW.ORG is ranked 1,814 (average position of the last 90 days) on the world ranking list and about 21% of their traffic comes from within the USA

  JW.ORG is still climbing and you can expect them to do so over the next couple of months and years

  maybe a silly question, but i'm curious about this part of the story of christ's crucifixion, when the 1 thief challenges jesus to save himself and "us too" from their deaths, but the 2nd thief rebukes him and pleads with jesus... .

  luke 23:42-43: and he said unto jesus, lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.

  and jesus said unto him, verily i say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise.. .

  Like i said before Jesus was not in Heaven that day... according to the King James he was somewhere else....

  why does the wtbs do what it does?

  if it's just to make money, they are easier ways.

  online bingo websites for example.. what is the motivation to have millions of followers "voluntarily" giving of their time?

  i think next year they will have the memorial at a larger event space like where they held their circuit assemblies.

  i noticed each first congregation at each kingdom hall has to leave immediately because each 2nd congregation is coming afterwards.

  the first congregation does not really have the time to greet new people after the memorial.

  we have 3 congregations sharing a Kingdom Hall. Every year two congregations rent facilities in a Hotel and one gathers at the Kingdom Hall

  New donation arrangement - double the contributions

  in the march 29th 2014 boe letter to be read to the congregations, this new donation arrangement is stated to be "an adjustment to financing kingdom hall and assembly hall construction worldwide".. this arrangement will remove the low-receipt kingdom hall construction worldwide (khcw) contribution boxes from kingdom halls.. incidentally, this used to be called the society kingdom hall fund (skhf) but this too never received very many contributions, even after it was rebranded and relaunched as khcw.. so how to increase revenues - another relaunch.. this time the voluntary and anonymous aspect is being focussed on, with a 'group responsibility' mindset instead.. don't ask the individuals to think about and contributing, ask the congregation as a whole, then fix it into a bank payment so it never gets forgotten and never decreases.. so why is this thread called 'double contribution'?.

  the letter to be read says that this money will be used to "support the construction of theocratic facilities wherever they are needed".. so how does this differ from the worldwide work contribution box, according to a 2005 kingdom ministry?.

  My suggestion, if there's any opportunity to ask questions on the night, is to publicly ask "If we already donate to the worldwide work which is also used to build facilities, what's the difference between that and this new arrangement? Why do we need to donate to both?"

  Answer ... you dont have to donate anything if you dont want to donate anything.
