You seem to be in a very good position, but just bored stiff. I used to have a job like that. I don't have a solution, but a lot of people I worked with were in exactly the same position. It makes you want to scream. Sorry I can't help. I wish I had the answer...but these jobs have to be done.

Well my JW elder dad has lost his job...
by BU2B inas a little background, my dad became a jw in 1980 i think, went to bethel, married my mom in 86' went back for another year and then i came along... he worked in the auto repair shop at bethel while he was there, and upon leaving, continued working in this field.
my whole life they have been the type of jw parents that tell you how you will never get to high school, never graduate it, never get married in this system, never have children in this system etc.. i say this to illustrate the end is just around the corner attitude they have always had, probably because they fully bought/buy into the hype at the conventions/wt articles.
my father has no plan in place for retirement, and he is physically slowing down doing such hard laborious work.

i finally had "the truth" talk with the hubby

he has too, but wants to go back.
he has never researched anything about jws.

Hi Scary21. The Christadelphians have not changed their beliefs a great deal since 1850. There are some fundemental differences between them and the JW's.

Inherit the Earth?????
by Crazyguy inthe wt has taught that some of the righteous will inherit the land and live on earth forever.
this dogma is very hard to get over because some scriptures allude to this and even jesus said the meek will inherit the earth.
but also jesus himself will inherit the nations but that doesn't mean he will reside down here with them.. so how does one explain that the meaning of inherit does not mean necessarily that one will have to live here on earth?

The verse prior to the one about 'one Lord, one faith, one baptism', mentions 'one body, one hope'.
The JW's seem to have two hopes and two bodies. One body in heaven with the head, one on earth with no direct access to the head.

Just sent letter to my parents that I no longer want to be a JW

Al of Christ's followers are commanded to take the bread and wine in memory of him. They are very wrong on this one. You could try to argue this one with them. There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.

by KateWild inwe are all set for a lovely xmas week and nice holiday, but this image is indellably printed in my brain and i cannot erase it.. .
it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?
how can we remove these images from our brain?
