  REPUTATION and disfellowshipping.....stories

  a friend of mine is getting disfellowshipped.

  someone with a kind heart, and good rep. he knows how i feel, remains my firend, and we have respectful conversation.

  without revealing too much, lets just say the reason he is being disfellowshipped is for family problems.

  AUTISM and JW children

  i remember being taken to the book room for numerous spankings.

  but have found over the years that so called worldly people, generally are a bit more tolerant to imperfection than witnesses. That is my experience anyway.- Awake at last

  I am glad you have found professionals and other members of the public that support you. Here in the UK I have not found this, my experience is that the public and professionals are intolerent of ASD. Perhaps mine is worse than yours.

  Sadly I have to deal with discrimination on a regular basis. I think there needs to be more awareness about Autism in the UK.

  I need help

  im new here, and dont know much about jw, other than what im reading.

  i have my best friend who is having bible study in her home with 2 witnesses, and she is soaking it in.

  she is very defensive and is getting more and more closed off.

  Your friend is being love bombed at the moment and being shown a lot of attetion. It's commendable that you care about her so much. JWs are in a cult. It's a high control religion and you can read more about the history of the religion and the doctrines on jwfacts.com

  Does she have parents close by? If you know them well try and explain their daughter needs their attention.

  i was head over heels for this girl, but when i realized i was in a self destructive cult i realized tieing the knot with her would screw up my future.

  this makes me think of the highschool sweethearts i turned down that were worldly.

  now she gives me dirty looks whenever our eyes meet a the hall or at gatherings.

  Not dating her is a good idea, but how did you end it? Is she is giving you dirty looks because you are ignoring her perhaps? Did you explain to her that you don't want to date right now?

  When we learn TTATT JWs call us bitter apostates. If we act kind to them thay won't have anything bad to say about us. Did you act kind when you ended it? Most people who get dumped are annoyed by it anyway and give dirty looks no matter how kindly they are dumped. So don't worry about what I have said too much, it's not that big of a deal.

  My Parents have gone FULL CULT MODE! Having a job is SATANIC!

  to give a little background, my parents are in their late 50s.

  around a year ago, my elder dad got laid off from his job.

  he worked as a auto mechanic making ok money.

  BU2B,

  This is some crazy stuff you're having to deal with. You parents should be a good example and showing you what they have planned for their retirement. It's a shame that they seem miserable and pioneering. But maybe it will take extreme poverty for thwm to realise it's time to leave.

  I bet they look around at all the elderly in the cong, struggling to make ends meet, hopefully they will wake up. It really is frustrating to see good people suffer at the hands of this cult.

  My Experience In Getting A Loved One Out

  a little background...i'm happily married and 3 years ago i was an elder and my wife was a pioneer, we have 3 kids.

  It sounds like things are starting to get messy now. I am really sorry to hear friends are getting involved and being spiteful. But it shows this is not an org with loving members. It sounds like your hubby is stressed and suffering mentally, like it has been said, cognitive dissonance.

  Take things one step at a time, think clearly and methodically, don't get nasty if he does, children know theses things. My divorce and custody has been horrific. He won in court, but as far as the kids sre concerned he is a fu57ing ass78le.

  husband told the elders i've called the religion a cult.

  they said i'm "heading down a road to be an apostate.

  Night and Day from GB to Writing committee? Someone explain?

  im sure by now most of you are familiar with anthony morris talk from this weekend.

  im even seeing memes posted all over instagram from jw mocking it.. here is my question, why are the things written so different from how the gb members, like anthony morris are?

  i know the gb dont actually write the stuff but i was under the impression that they come up with the spiritual light pass if off to the writing committee and they put it in the publications.

  I agree with those that have already posted about cult techniques. The control of information is a way of controlling members. You are right, they will say one thing in a talk and something different in a WT study article, and something completely different on jw.org.

  The information elders get is secret and different to what JWs get.

  This can cause a lot of cognitive dissonance when you first realise it's going on. But when you understand it's a cult and it is what cults do you can move forward. Steve Hassan talks about this and can help you through it. I suggest you read Combatting cult mind Control. It's a good read and helps tp free up your mind.
