Human kindness

i hold kindness in high regard; it separates us from the drudgery of life and elevates those who practice it as well as those who receive it.

my family has been going through a big crisis for several weeks now and i've noticed a few things.

several of the elders have expressed their concern for us, shared a scripture and then back out to field service or whatever.

i can leave now without retribution from friends and family.

i can simply say i will no longer represent an organization that protects pedaphiles as rampant as the catholic church!

Meeting for not paying assembly fees???!!!!

hey folks......has anyone else heard of, or experienced this before?.

i visited by parents over the weekend and accompanied them to their assembly....same rubbish spoken about since ive been born....obey the gb, donate your last penny, no education and be a pushover.. anyways, our assembly hall has lush vegetation and scenery, so i was more focused on that....i started dozing off after lunch, so got up and went walking, saw some older folks from the congregation i grew up with.. upon the conclusion of the assembly, wed normally leave out right after the prayer ends so as to avoid the traffic.

however, for this assembly he told me that hes gonna be a few minutes with the elders and branch representatives...so a few minutes turned into an hour..

there are approximately six billion human beings in the world who are not, and never will be, jehovah's witnesses.

per watchtower doctrine, jehovah's 'day of judgement ' is coming soon.

so what to do about all those non-jws who are 'enemies' of jehovah???

If you ask them rhetorical questions like that they will just go on the defence and not really think for themselves. You might also get them thinking things like "ahh well here is another bitter apostate". Lots of decent JWs make excuses that Jehovah is a just God and will save all righteous people, they don't agree wholeheartedly with the fact that all will be destroyed who aren't JWs.

Find What Your Social Status Was in the Congregation

ever notice how the "happiest people on earth" are also the most class-oriented?

the social structure in the congregation is more complex than the blueprints of a nuclear warhead, but just so that you "remember your place", see if you can find where your niche was/is:.

1. at the top of the social order of things within the congregation is of course, the presiding overseer and his family.

Without a shadow of a doubt I was always an 8. Even during my study before I got baptised, and I never changed. some of the elders appreciated my free thinking and I had a few honest ones as close friends.

My neighbor is a return visit. Should I say something?

i stayed home sick from work the other day and noticed a car group pull up to my neighbor's house.

she's a stay-at-home mom.

i decided it was time to retrieve something from my truck to see if i could recognize the visiting sisters.

How Much Pleasure Can You Tolerate?

Going after pleasure needs to be balanced. There is such a thing as having too much of a good thing. Food gives us pleasure, but becoming gluttons changes the way we view food. So the desire to do something pleasing should be balanced. The video was more about sexual pleasure though, having multiple sexual partners is lonely, many find manogomy pleasing, sexual pleasure is a small part of a manogomous relationship.

yep...that was the topic discussed in a recent public talk!.

the speaker went on about how a "god of love, along with his organisation, would never threaten people with punishment and hell!".

talk about hypocrisy!

We can help you come up with an exit plan. There are loads of different ways to make the next step, but you have to have it right in your head what you're going to do. Skip a few meetings and wind down, cold turkey and stop going all together, just miss the services meetings, etc.

Once you decide how you will stop going to meetings you need to decide how to deal with elders phonecalls, meetings and "encouragement". There are plenty of good one liners to keep them at bay and then they may just forget about you. Alternatetively you may want a JC and record it to tell them all about the things you have learned, that can be cathartic for many, but ends in D'fing or D'aing.

o m g...(yes that is a very childish reaction...but i couldn't think of a more appropriate expression!).

if you haven't yet read it...please do so..... it is so ridiculous!

so leading, so distorted, and full of "bait and switch" techniques.. "prove you have the truth"..by seeing how neutral witnesses were in war times?

You are awake and you are getting to the point that the more you read to more frustrated you are with the cultish techniques used. I suggest you make a plan of how to stay in without getting so annoyed. You need to read less and miss a few meetings.
