I would like to apologize for Americans who making pompous statements and ass-u-me that some other Americans expect they will get poor treatment abroad simply because they have noticed an increase in "America(n) bashing". Further, I would like to point out that just because it has been observed that this activity is indeed participated in, (hence, the news article), it does not automatically mean that any person who has observed this increase believes that they would be personally bashed simply for setting foot on European soil.

First of all, I've never been to Europe. Secondly, as I said -

Am I generalizing? Yes, probably

Until I came to this board, I had next to no contact with anyone outside of America. However, since I've been here, I have met many people of non-American descent, so I am basing this comment upon an already-admitted "generalized" observation of many - NOT all - European posters here whom I have witnessed drive verbal (written) punches into the bellies of Americans - most notably politically conservative Americans. Unfortunately, I can not mention names, or I would be violating any number of the posting rules. But America(n) bashing is big from what I can tell. Maybe it is just big on this site -- and since this is the only contact I have had with Europeans, I wouldn't know for sure. But I can say that I see an awful lot of it here, so my admittedly generalized comment was based strictly upon my experiences HERE. I could be wrong, FD, and if I am, please accept my apologies.

What this article does NOT point out is that I don't think it would be uncommon for the same thing to happen to any American in Europe - no matter WHAT color they are or whether this was a sports event or while suppin' a spot of tea in a quaint outdoor cafe. The fact that this guy is black is irrelevant when compared to the fact that he is AMERICAN. Am I generalizing? Yes, probably. But unfortunately, I don't think I'm too far off base whether the dislike was shown by a loogie in the face, a punch in the gut, or simply an inward thought.

i have a friend who is constantly getting bugged by a jw co-worker who keeps coming to his house to preach to him.

he's usually not home but she keeps disrupting the family.

she's caught him like 2-3 times as he was already on his way out, so he's never taken the time to really talk to her much.

Maybe you could try e-mailing him the links to the UN scandal, the Silent Lambs info, the Rand Cam scandal, etc. Have him print them all up, hand them to her and tell her that he'd like to discuss these issues with her when she returns. Two things could come out of it:

1. She might learn a thing or two about the WT and perhaps we could have a new poster on the board

2. She will label him an "apostate" and will stop coming to the door.

i have cut and pasted the article - but here is the argument in a nutshell.

e-watchman claims that jehovah has staked everything on the 144000 being faithful.

ergo, he is claiming that the 144000 are predestined to success, or rather, if even one of these pre-selected saps is made to stumble, then the whole deal of the ransom and redemption is off.

So e-watchman believes that God is capable of LYING?! After all these years as a Witness, this man still does not understand the nature of God? Better yet, he is unable to recognize that when LYING is involved, so is Satan? What is Satan's hallmark trait? LYING!!!!!

i have a year old filly that i would like to give to someone that cant afford and has always wanted to own one of these fine animals.. her name is funnyface and she is halter broken has a fine temperament and is abit bossy.

she is the smallest of the horses we have .

so if you know of a child or anyone that would like to own but also realize the care they require please feel free to pm me.. she is a quarter/arabian cross the picture is funnyface with her winter coat.. rather than take her to the horse sale where the meat buyers will probably buy her i would love to see her go to a good home.. thanks galaxy7.

i'd like to introduce myself, i hope you will well understand me (indeed, iam a 23 yeas old french girl).. i am very happy to see that several personn has lived the seam experience has me so they are abble to understand better what i feel and who can help us to live better ans follow our way forward life(i hope you will understand what i mean).. i was born in a jw's family, and when i got 12 i begin to ask me some question and have some doubts about this ''thruth".. when i begin to have my boyfriend (not jw) i had to lie...we stayed 4 year together but i never had sexual relation because i was affraid of consequency (even if i was not baptized).

but every times "brother and sisters" told lies to my parents, about me and about what i was doing with my boyfriend (but we never did anything).
