  what a beautiful place and such friendly people.

  i enjoyed the relaxed pace there, a lot, maybe too much.. but i'm back to my reality and classes start on monday.

  ? about the United Nations and WTS

  does anyone know if a letter from the wts has been sent to the congregations about their being a member of the un as an ngo?

  or has it just been told to the elders and then the rank and file hear about it if they ask the elders?

  i know the wts said it was to get a library card but i need to know if there was actually a public announcement to the congregations about it..

  They REALISED it because the apostates are the ones who exposed them.....yet they are so bold as to act as though they realised it on ....their own. They state they are GREATFUL it was brought to their attention, and say it will aid in counteracting opposers.......;.

  It's actually more than this. The WT didn't have a "sudden realization" of anything. They knew all along what they were doing. They claimed that the rules for NGO status changed in 1996 (I believe) and they were not made aware of the changes. To say this is a half-truth would be generous. Yes, the DPI did change NGO rules after the WT joined in 1991, which can be verified on the UN website. However, the WT claimed that the reason they joined the UN in the first place was because they needed a library card to access information from the UN campus library, (aka: The Dag Hammarskjold Library) which they claimed could not be obtained anywhere else. This is patently untrue for at least two reasons. The first is because there are numerous world-wide UN Depositories and local libraries which can borrow books from the Dag Hammarskjold Library on behalf of a local borrower, who can in turn, check them out. There is at least one of these libraries closer to Bethel than the actual UN campus itself, so it makes no sense for them to fornicate with the Scarlet Beast for a mere library card, when there were other, more convenient ways around it. However, it is the second reason that is much more compelling, in my opinion. And that is that although NGO library rules changed in 1996, the rule regarding the requirement for an NGO to disseminate favorable UN propaganda to it's member base did NOT change in 1996, and were in fact, the same rules which were in place when the WT joined in 1991. This means that the WT knew from Day One that they would be required to spew favorable UN propaganda to it's own members in order to be affiliated with them, although they claim otherwise. Because the WT complied with this requirement in 1998 (I believe) and again in 2000 (I believe) there is verifiable proof that not only did they have full knowledge of this requirement, but also fully complied with it in order to keep their NGO status current! The final nail in the coffin lies in the official WT letter sent to local congregations dated in November 2001 which was to supercede any other letters on the subject - which had contradicted the library card explanation. When you put this all together, it all adds up to one big, fat lie. The truth of the matter is that the WT joined the UN for the same purpose the Catholic Church or any other "false religious entity" has joined - to gain access to influential international lawmakers to further their own cause (aka: opening up new markets). Keep in mind that the WT is the same entity which espouses the virtues of the bravery of not taking the mark of the beast, even if it results in death. However, at the same time, they theselves were frollicking with The Beast without any threat of starvation or death at their own door! This is hypocrisy to the nth degree, and in my personal opinion, one of the most damaging testimonies to the fact that the WT is NOT anyone's visible organization. They are a publishing corporation who exploits it's own members by using them to produce and sell their products without compensation, which only fattens their own wallets. At the same time, they are willing to fornicate with the Wild Beast to open new and profitable markets, when there is no doubt in anyone's mind that they would disfellowship any member who dared to do the same thing. They have only one agenda, and it is not to spread "The Good News". It is to make themselves richer while hiding behind charitable organization tax laws. And they have proven time and again that they will do their best to destroy anyone who questions them or gets in their way.

  I'm not trying to stir you up here - I have a great deal of respect and admiration for you putting this board together and maintaining it for all of us to use. I certainly do not want to jeopardize my status here because I enjoy being a part of this community. I truly want to understand your point of view, however, I am having difficulty seeing what you see. Will you please help open my eyes to your viewpoint, while understanding that I am not trying to disrespect you or your opinions?

  It was perfectly legal! We weren't any more able to see the future and how despicable Saddam was going to turn out to be than the next guy.

  Maybe legal ... but totally immoral and the administration KNEW what he was like just like they knew what other dictators they have supported or installed are like. They do not care one jot for the people that their messed up policies affect so all this "we've removed Saddam for the Iraqi people, aren't we great" talk is a bit hollow. They put him there and kept him there for their own ends so they share the responsibility for the attrocities that he committed with their weapons.

  1. What evidence is there that the US knew that Saddam would turn out to be an evil dictator when the US legally supplied him with arms?

  2. If you believe that America is responsible for Iraqi deaths because we supplied Iraq with arms prior to any UN sanctions that prohibited it, then do you also believe that France and Russia are responsible for American deaths because they supplied arms to Iraq when they knew it was against international law?

  3. Since France and Russia began supplying arms to Saddam after it was evident that Saddam was in fact a dangerous dictator because he had already gassed his own people, does that make them responsible for Iraqi deaths suffered at the hands of Saddam before the second Gulf war?

  4. Since France and Russia signed the UN Resolution prohibiting trade with Iraq, does that make them guilty of violating international law?

  5. Do you believe that when France and Russia illegally supplied Iraq with arms that this was a moral act on their parts?

  I really want to understand how you see this. Please help me.

  Could you now answer why the USA government misreported the facts and how come the FOX network is as objective as Pradva?

  As I stated earlier in this thread, I personally do not believe that any one American media source is completely objective, and that if we want to find balance within our media, we need to look at different sources - not rely on just one. Now, as I am not a British citizen, nor have I ever visited there, I am curious - which British sources are completely objective? I would love to be able to access them via the net and check them out myself.

  As far as the government misreporting facts, this is a real hot button for me. It seems that our world has become so accustomed to instant gratification, that many expect that the WMD's would have been found on the first day of the war, and that Saddam would have been captured on the first day of the war, and that a new and thriving Iraqi government would have been set up on the first day of the war. It don't work that way in the real world. Just because WMD have not been found, it does not mean that they will not be found. There are many unexplained events that point to the fact that Saddam definitely had something to hide, yet those who accuse others of relying on unobjective news sources and are making a mountain out of a molehill, are the same ones who turn a blind eye to these events and declare Iraq WMD-free. I've listed them below. I would love to hear your opinion on these events, especially since I've posed these questions in other threads and not one "There ain't no WMDs in Iraq" advocate has bothered to answer them. If you are as open-minded as you claim to be, I am sure you will have no qualms about answering these questions I've outlined below:

  First of all, why was Saddam annexing public buildings and declaring them "Presidential Palaces", thereby exempting them from inspection, just prior to the ejection of the first inspection team?

  Second, it is a proven fact that a terrorist training facility was found outside of Baghdad, with an American airplane on the premises. Why do you suppose it was there? Who do you think put it there? Who do you think used it?   today i had an interesting conversation, not with a christian believer but a muslim believer, .

  he was trying to recruit me into the faith--so i thought i would pose the question to him about why his god watches as 20,000 believers (muslims) women, children, etc lost thier lives-.

  his explanation i thought was straight out of a christian handbook on.
