Sorry I didn't read it, I was too busy talking on my mobile phone to my buddy at Bethel who was calling from his mobile. Bet you didn't know that the Bethel 'boys' get a special rate on mobiles.

Has anyone seen the article, Young People Ask., Do I need a mobile phone?
by laylaluv inhas anyone seen the article, young people ask........do i need a mobile phone?
this is on the home page of the society.
jesus stated the wise principle that one should "calculate the expense" before undertaking an important project.

And when I was a regular all those dubs never did like it cause I have a Lincoln and a Benz. You should see them lap up my goodies around the pool or slurp down my special treats from the bar. And I never did ask for money in the "service". Did get a lady who looked down her nose at us as if we were tramps. I hadto tell her I have more money in my checking account than she probably makes in a year. Yeah I know it was mean and shocked the hell out of the br I was working with. It was fun.

Teacher charged as "serial spanker"
by happyout injuly 9--meet robert clark.
the 61-year-old pervert was charged yesterday with spanking and kissing eight boys enrolled in the not-for-profit pennsylvania video workshop he ran.
according to this upper moreland police department affidavit (in which the cops have redacted the kids' names), the retired teacher was a serial spanker who preyed on children as young as nine, often giving them whacks across their behinds as a sick birthday gift.

and the Watchtower's take on this was "Thank the Lord he did not spank the monkey"!

Did anything a householder said ever make an impression on you?
by Alleymom incoming at this as a householder rather than an ex-jw, i'd love to hear from any of you about comments from householders that made an impression on you, back when you were active in the door-to-door work.
since the jw's first knocked at my door 13 years ago, i've done my best to give them something to think about every time they knock at my door.
i always introduce myself by name and try to get their names.

Trying to involve a basically indifferent man at the door one time, asked when he said he had his own church, 'well what are you learning new that you can share'. His reply 'I try not to'.
I think most people try not to.

Are you a special case?
by JH inwhatever you do, are you always the exception to the rule?
does it ever happen that you see a doctor and he can't understand your problem, that you are a unique case that he never seen before?
or if you go to the garage with your car, and have a problem that no one ever had?.

How Did You Become Irregular and Then Inactive As A Publisher?
by minimus indid you suddenly just stop reporting time?
did you do it gradually???
what reaction did you get from the elders when you missed your first month reporting time?
-
SadElder
I've not reported for 4 months and no one has asked. After being in the hospital and home for almost two months during which time I saw one elder in my house. Indeed the love of the greater number has cooled off.

Crackdown on Inactive ones?
by ScoobySnax ini know i'm probably a bit behind here, but i've just read from another site, that the wt has "ordered a crackdown (via the co's to the local elders) on inactive ones........." where's this info come from?
and can someone explain exactly what this means?
-
SadElder
Actually there has not been a crackdown. The effort albeit a shortlived one was to attract back those who have been on the outs for a while. No letters were sent by HQ advising any witch hunt. At this point anyway.

For my first post I offer
Brother Brown(nose): Comes the visit of the Circuit Overseer, there he is. The first one at the meeting, even though normally he arrives just after the opening song. Oh my notice how he swoons over Br. CO and his wife. And watch out if it happens to be one of those "work with" weeks when the District Overseer works along with the CO. There will be a brown spot on the carpet so long that the poor MS assigned to cleaning that week will never recover.
Greetings
Jeremy
